I haven't looked into the details, but it's more like you can't criticise the Monarchy, but you can criticise the government, policies and laws. But you can't incite violence or unrest even online, and cannot demafe government officials. From talking with Thais, this is ok, although they are obviously never too confrotavke speaking openly about it.

Most agriculture uses light from a green source: the sun... Although I suppose that's a scarce resource in Iceland through half of the year.

Not exactly a dictatorship, but for example Thailand is a pretty successful and benevolent Monarchy where besides not being allowed to talk badly about the king, people are free.

Not defending Turnip, but at this point the Paris Agreement is almost pointless as we surpass the 1.5ºC. Governments around the world did very little over the last 10 years to prevent the current state of affairs.

This is great news. Is Germany the first country to do this?

I couldn't find some details of this law. How long is the leave, same as if they carried the baby to birth? Are the fathers presently or with the new law entitled to any leave if they ask?

Some would disagree but yes. Brazilians surely far outnumber Portuguese in Lemmy.

At this point I can't say I trust my data with the US more than China tbh. China isn't threatening to attack Europe, and Chinese companies are not actively bribing EU governments for months, and interfering with elections.

But anyway, all this FUD always forgets to mention that you can also just host your own uncensored, unmonitored Deepseek model if you work with sensitive information.

How many errors was it just this year?

90% alive today would not eat meat if they had to kill. You can grow up used to it of course.

I'm not one to usually diss new UI changes, but this one grinds my gears.

Firefox for Android has released a new menu design. It organizes everything a little differently, which is alright it looks fresh. But 2 things are really annoying and a continuous design trend in Firefox.

  • The option to open page in external app has been tucked away in a sub menu. I used this often and it was in the top level menu before. Companies just love hiding things in menus for no reason.
  • the option to open a private tab as a normal tab is GONE. This is how I use Firefox: someone sends me a link, I click on it and it opens in a private tab by default. If I need to sign in to see it (e.g. private Instagram links) then I open it in a normal tab. This option is now simply gone.

So yeah that's my rant. I'll see if I open a bug requesting the 2nd issue back.

I personally been using it for almost 5 years. I heard about it from a colleague a few years before that but I forgot about it, and then an online ad reminded me to check them out again.
