Not sure what brand it was honestly but I think they were pretty cheap to begin with so probably not the best stuff

Salt. I really, really enjoy salt on my fries. I have a few paper bags of salt in my purse at all times, so when I get a bag of take away fries and they forgot to put salt on it (which happens a LOT where I live) I can add my own salt! Saved me from disappointment many times.

I do not believe the kind of mentality that you can make anything out of any situation with your mindset or things like that, for example that idea that if you are just super positive and hard working life will just give you sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes you are dealt a very bad hand and you can't win the game. It's more like the quote "what doesn't kill you makes you wish it did" However, the quote in post from OP doesn't imply that you can just wield any circumstance your way. It just says that you only have control over how you react to it, which is true. Example: I got laid off at my job last week. I felt upset and very sad. My instinct reaction is to go retreat in my shell and not do any of my responsibilities because I feel depressed, sad and angry. But that will only give me more shit in the future. Instead I went to my other job, met friends, and tried to find some silver lining and make the best of it.

Yes this quote can be used in a toxic positivity kind of mindset but it's also almost always in your best interest to make the best out of your situation, even if it's shitty.

I'm completely new to selfhosting but see a lot of potential. I wonder if anyone knows a good way to self host a notetaking app? The point is that I need to access my notes on multiple devices so self hosting them could be a nice idea. I currently use google keep and goodnotes but would like to leave those behind...

Hi, welcome to the Lemmy Grimes fan page! I realised there wasn't one yet so I made it :)

As the title says. For me it's always the same: at first, my boss is understanding, but when I miss work because of a migraine for the 15th time, that compassion kind of dulls away... At some point, they start complaining that I am unreliable and they always seem to be waiting for when I get better, as if there is a cure for this chronic condition.

I always feel like somehow it is my fault for being sick and I feel like I let my team down even though I know it's the last thing I want.

How do you guys cope with it? What do you tell your boss? How do coworkers view you? Any tips and tricks are always welcome!
