Have you had time to play around with it? How is it?

How is your experience with NanoKVM?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago

Thanks you very much for your explanation!

I've never virtualized OpenWRT, but with hardware passthrough I don't see why it shouldn't work.

How does it compare to NTFY?

I think that there's been a misunderstanding: the OP said that he has no GPS on the device, so I guessed that he wanted to map the WiFi networks, so my comment.

Hard? I'd say impossible. To map the position of a certain WiFi network, a physical position is needed, if not with GPS, the only alternative that I see is to insert the address by hand.

Oh, got it. It does make sense!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Ok, got it. I didn't understand your reply because the OP question was an SSH client that could sync SSH keys and password, not a way to connect to the machines.

The first file is seeding and the second one is downloading at...24Kbps. You should add them to all the possible indexers (I've no idea how, sorry).

Hi all!
I often struggle to remember where/if I've ordered a product (my email account is a mess, my own fault!), how much I've paid and if it was for me or for some member of my family. Is there a self hosted service that you've tried and find helpful that can do this kind of job?

Hi all! I have a HA server in my LAN and all my IoT devices are in a separate VLAN. In this way to insert all the devices I have to configure them all manually using MQTT commands. Since I'm fed up about this method, I've added a second NIC to the HA VM (Proxmox) that is in the IoT VLAN. When I enter the terminal I see that HA has 2 IPs, one for each network and I thought that all the Shelly (they use the same MQTT broker that uses HA, they're not configured for cloud connection and ColoT is enabled) devices would appear in HA, but...they don't. How do you think that I can troubleshoot this problem?

Hi all! I've just installed Immich and so far I love it! I'm trying to upload about 1000 pictures, but in the upload process (web UI) automatically evaluates the duplicates and don't upload them. The ones that it evaluates as duplicates are not real duplicates, but are rather very similar pictures that I prefer to decide myself which one to keep. Is it possible to disable the duplicate recognition during upload? Thanks!

Hi everybody!
I want to move my selfhosted services from a VPS to a PC in my house.
I have an E5-2620 and a it-6700K, which one would you pick and why?
The E5 already has 2 PCI-X each with 4 NIC (that I need to use with OpnSense to share my Internet connection with my neighbor) that I would need to throw away and buy as PCIe for the i7.
Thanks!

When my PC wake up from sleep, all the windows are in the main display (I have 2) and in the top half. Is there a way to save the windows position every x minutes so that when it wakes up I can restore it?

I want to add a shortcut to create new tab in Konsole, but I want it to be local and not global (CTRL+T is already used by another application). I've searched and it seems that I need to go to Settings → Configure Keyboard Shortcuts, but I don't have the settings anywhere. I read that I should have a menu bar, but...I don't. What's going on with my Konsole??? Thanks!

Hi everybody!
I've just installed Kubuntu and I'm using Linux gui for the first time.
I have 2 4K screens, one horizontal and one vertical. With Windows I divide the horizontal one in 4 equal parts and the vertical in 3 parts so that all are almost 16:9 and each have it's own taskbar that's so useful to me because I know what I've opened in every virtual screen and if in virtual screen there is Outlook, but I need to take in foreground Chrome that I know it's there (but it's also in other screens), I can click on Chrome on the virtual screen 1 taskbar. If there are no multiple taskbar, I would have to click on Chrome on the main taskbar and select which window I need (which can be problematic because not always it's possible to see what's going on in the small preview).

Is this or something similar possible with KDE plasma (I'm on 6.1.5).

Thanks!

Is it possibile to create an IP whitelist? I get constantly banned by different HA servers (home, office, etc.) from my smartphone and everytime I need to edit the ip_bans.yaml file and restart HA.

Hi all!
I have 4 HA servers in different locations (home, officer etc.) and using the 3 fingers to change server every time is a pain in the ass. Is there any way to open the app directly to a specified server? I've had a look at the widget, but I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Everytime I use Jellyfin I have to add a filter to see only not watched movies, is it possible to save the filters based on users?

Edit: I'm using the web GUI

Hi community!
I'm in the process of building a new office PC for:

  • tenths of firefox tabs open some with Microsoft 365 Excel
  • some VMs because I will be installing Debian on the host, but in the office we use some Microsoft software and because, since I install, uninstall, create a lot of mess, I like to be able to go back to old snapshots or format and reinstall Windows without impacting my day to day job.

I'm still undecided about the CPU: AMD 9950x, 9700x or 7950x, but where I' completely blind is the motherboard. What I would like:

  • more than 2 PCIe slots to:
    • install a PCI USB card to pass the whole controller to a VM
    • install an extra NIC
    • I want to be able to install a graphic card in future if needed
  • more than 4 USB-A ports
  • more than 1 USB-C port
  • a well known and reliable brand

Do you have any suggestion even for an SSD (probably 4TB, in the 2-300€ range, maybe even something more) and RAM (64GB)?

Thanks!

I want to switch from Windows to Linux for my office PC.
I will be using multiple Windows VM because in the office we use multiple software that runs only on Windows (maybe we'll switch to something else, but right now I need the VMs) and because i like to snapshots and go back in time when I test new software.
I thought about Ubuntu because it seems to be the most user friendly.
I always work with a tons of opened windows (mainly Firefox) and I like to have a place for each of them, Right now on Windows I use DisplayFusion that creates multiple virtual screens (7, 4 or the 32" horizontal monitor and 3 on the 28" vertical one, both 4K), I've attached the configuration.
So, the question: is there a software that works kinda like DisplayFusion? (virtual screen each with it's own taskbar, maximize in each of them, remember the position of each window, ...).

P.s. Can I pass only some USB port to a Windows VM using KVM?
Pp.s. Is it possible to use Premiere on a Windows VM? Would it run smooth?
