Hey thanks I will!

I’m hoping Lingonaut will be available before my subscription renews in December. Otherwise it’s RocketLanguages through my library.

I like learning Japanese but I’m done with the gamified streaks and badges and passive aggressive widgets.

I use em and en dashes according to traditional grammar rules. Been that way for years. It just looks and reads nicer. AI won’t take that from me.

Dividends on AAPL are fairly flimsy relative to its year-over-year performance. It’s not enough for me to dump mine but this is just petty.

At scale I can see a pension fund swapping in international stocks. When that happens US stocks will go down anyways so wheeeee.

“Unfair” tax? Everything is unfair when he can’t take total advantage of somebody. What an emotional baby.

Go get that money, workers. The post office is a public service, not a business. It’s allowed not to be profitable.

If they want to branch out they could always offer basic phone and banking services like they do in some other countries.

I believe there will be no charge…

Sadly, yes. There are all sorts of carve-outs and exceptions for heads of state and diplomats.

Danielle Smith is deplorable enough without resorting to misogyny.

Edit: thank you

I find trying to assign reasoning to the unreasonable a waste of time. The bigot personality doesn’t respond to anything except the fear of consequences.

So you show up in public, in huge numbers, and demonstrate that bad behavior isn’t welcome. They’ll retreat to the edges of society until the next would-be despot shows up. Hopefully in less numbers over time.

An asshole doesn’t need an excuse to be an asshole.

Years later I still haven’t decided who the biggest asshole is in this case, and somehow that is absolutely correct.

I think my employer saw the Shopify CEO’s mandatory AI memo and got a little overexcited.

As a web developer I’ve tried copilot and disliked it immensely. It didn’t save me time because my syntax memory and minimal keystroke workflow are pretty decent after 20 years of huckin’ HTML and CSS in various frameworks.

I feel like if I give studies or interviews from companies who FAFOd I’d have a better chance of arguing my point. Does anybody have any in their back pocket they can spare?

Yes, I am very aware of the irony that I could try to ask an AI but avoiding it is kind of the point in this c, isn’t it?

Just figured it’s worth a mention. It still has FB and IG but it’s nice to see some distance between the worst offender.

I haven’t received any flyers from other parties yet. This is the first time I’ve seen a Bluesky icon in print from any source so it’s kind of novel.

Silly answers only. We need a laugh or two in spite of another day of stupid news.
