I never heard that word I think (not a native speaker) and DDG only brings up some band, which I don’t think you mean here. What are the rubes?

That sounds interesting, do you have a source for that where I can read more by any chance?

I‘m not disagreeing with what you’re trying to convey but still: Mussolini very likely never said/wrote that, seems to have been misattributed. IF he did, the Italian word corporazioni, while technically translating to corporations, doesn’t refer to private companies, which in Italian are normally called società.

I guess using renewables for the energy needs of metal production would work too

My guess would be that the word „lying“ implies the intent to claim something untrue, which is hard to prove (not saying this isn’t the case here), opposed to „falsely claiming“ which includes situations where you actually believe what you’re saying even though it’s objectively false.

Not a scientist nor native English speaker myself, so I’m wondering: shouldn’t that technically say „hypothesis + evidence“ instead of „theory + evidence“? Which is of course nitpicky (if I’m even correct) in the context of a tumblr post, but I’m still curious

So if no one gives a shit anyway you don’t need the surveillance capabilities anyway, right?

Is there a reason to keep this structure other than „we’ve always been doing it like that“/backwards compatibility?

So it’s immoral to force your will on a cat regarding their diet when they themselves would choose different is immoral but forcing your will on cows/pigs by killing them even though they would choose to live is not?

Cats, like humans, need certain nutrients (macro and micro), they don’t need that nutrients from a specific source. Of course a healthy vegan diet needs effort and monitoring to ensure sufficient intake of these nutrients, but it’s certainly possible, both for humans and cats.
