I do hope that Trump is the galvanizing force that pushes the people of the EU (and perhaps others) towards Ukraine support, as well as everything else Trump and the right hate

Why do you think that the EU and others haven't been supporting Ukraine? They have.

Thoughts and prayers?

How about organising to recall your Republican Congress members for failing to perform their constitutional duty?

European here. Sorry America, but you're going to have to step up and remove your corrupt leaders I think. And I'll be happy when you do.

I'm getting a bit pissed off with this type of message.

  1. We already have been leading. Funds and weapons have been relatively free flowing from European nations. Getting anything out of the US has been like pulling teeth even under Biden.
  2. We know a shit ton of burden has fallen on us because a nation we considered a friend has turned traitor. You're not telling us anything new.
  3. As a US citizen you can't wash your hands of the fact that your leadership is corrupt. "Oh, sorry!". They're your collective responsibility. You all put them there. Only you can replace them. Get off your arse and organise.

Were you in the Oval Office yesterday?

Even when you're being extorted you have a reason to pay the money. "Pay or people die", but all Trump is saying is "Pay".

Can somebody explain something to me?

  • Trump was trying to position himself as a peace broker between Ukraine and Russia. He wasn't aligned with either side. He was "aligned with the world" in the pursuit of peace.
  • So what's the purpose of the minerals deal? Ukraine give the mining rights to the US and in return the US... does what? Act as a peace broker?

As soon as Trump distanced the US from Ukraine in that press gaggle, there was no reason for Zelensky to sign anything. If he was trading for US support then sure, but not for the US to be a neutral 3rd party.

To be fair, that interview was conducted in a respectful manner. He was given plenty of space to explain his position. Fox news has surprised me on this occasion.

...three hours later.

"You are a very tough negotiator… I'm not sure I like that, but okay," Trump told Sir Keir as they appeared before reporters after their meeting. And he did not seem to be entirely joking.

That paragraph is crucial back home. Many will criticise Starmer for being all smile with Trump in front of the camera. Many would have preferred to have seen him trying to pin Trump down, but at least it sounds like that happened behind closed doors.

Something sweet (acidic) will break it down too. I find fruit juice or a soft drink will work better for me than milk.

There's been been bills at the EU level, but they've been defeated. I think individual countries introduced their own bills if they were supporters of the EU one.

Basically browsers are big because they are operating systems for web hosted applications with huge attack surfaces and lots of legacy compatibility requirements amassed over 3 decades.

A rewrite isn't the answer. Putting limits on browser functionality is. JavaScript was the turning point IMHO.

Personally I keep a copy of chromium around just for Google meet. Everything else is on Firefox.
