The mysteries are okay, but the direction and pacing feel off, and the characters and their dialogue aren't interesting.

The whole thing of medicine vs. curses, you know which one is going to win in the end.

RPCS3's website says GoW3 has problems with this emulator.

https://wiki.rpcs3.net/index.php?title=God_of_War_III

This title is currently not considered "playable", as the hardware requirement is too high. But it can be played from start to finish with decent performance on a good CPU, especially if you use the game's patches.

Beats me. It does track the web manhwa pretty closely though.

I'm having a blast with this show!

From episode 1: Ojisan talks about the Shirley Temple-curled hairstyles of villainesses from classic shojo manga from the 1970s, which he would be familiar as he was growing up at that time:

Ayumi Himekawa from Glass Mask/Garasu no Kamen/ガラスの仮面

Reika Ryūzaki, aka Madame Butterfly, from Aim For The Ace!/Ace o Nerae!/エースをねらえ!

Eliza Leagan from Candy Candy

Loving the ED "Matsuken Samba II" too, more for the visuals than the song.

Does anyone else think that DiCaprio, and De Niro for that matter, were the worst things in Killers Of The Flower Moon?

I've just implemented my news detox.

I've unsubscribed to the various news, world_news, politics, not_the_onion, /c's not through their fault, but too depressing.

I'm hoping this frees up more time for watching anime.

Ban non-union delivery and non-union warehouse distribution centers.

100 years ago we just killed them and redistributed their wealth, which is part of what fixed the Great Depression.

Wha? I thought Congress passed estate taxes starting in 1916, the robber barons didn't live as long as today, so they died of old age and disease more-or-less like regular people.

I never heard of many of them being killed.

I'd be interested to hear more about patterns of killing.

The photo was sent to the NY Times by her father "Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., a prominent politician in Baltimore" who served as mayor for 12 years, to announce her engagement to Paul Pelosi.

She hadn't changed her last name yet, so the photo was filed under her maiden name "Nancy D'Alesandro".

She looks so young in that '60s hairdo!

Wow, even a radio host who was on the air for decades, like Owens, is financially brought to his knees by medical bills...

It sounds like he even has all of the right insurances: "Medicare, medical insurance and long-term care coverage." as the article says.

Alas, I haven't been near Shasta County recently...

If the jackpot isn't claimed, the Mega Millions prize money will be returned to the states where the tickets were sold.

Real estate firm Kilroy Realty acquired the (current Flower Market) property with plans for an office development...'

...a financial agreement (the Flower Market has) with Kilroy is dependent on the future construction of the originally planned office development.

Ruh roh!

Not surprisingly, after taking damage, the wharf will remain closed until further notice.

It was undergoing repairs from a previous storm in 2023.

Why does San Francisco have vintage streetcars on Market Street?

It happened because of this guy.

Heavy surf with 50 foot waves hit the Northern California coast today.

Part of the Santa Cruz Wharf that collapsed had the closed Dolphin Restaurant. 😢

That just leaves Hilton...
