Thank you! I found a 3yr old review for no name chip, I think I should grab one in my next grocery trip

I’ll also consider to try Stax.

Thanks again

I have been a Pringles lover for more than a decade, and it's time for me to find an alternative one. I like the saddle-shape and I don't know which brand provides it.

r/BuyFromEU suggests some local brands, but that's not my case:

Any suggestions? Thank you

I love this video too! I was in favour of the all-in-one pods (fooled by the ads), but after watching this video, I switched to powder, and I gladly saved a few more loonies.

Sadly, both manufactures and retailers are both pushing us to purchase dishwasher pods for more profit. I had found Canadian Tire discontinued a Cascade 1kg powder package (warn: US brand). I'm looking for a Canadian brand providing powder options now.

I apology for my words causing confusion. I'm not arguing "even worse" vs "much worse". I just want to emphasize Chrome is terrible at privacy.

They have a lemmy community /c/[email protected]

But yes, they should promote lemmy more

Chrome based browsers are even worse

IMHO "even worse" it not accurate here. Chrome based browsers are much worse, and they are always developing new technologies to exploit users' privacy for profit.

I think the only viable option is to leave Chrome ASAP (for everyone). If one is unsatisfied with Firefox's policy (we should!), then to choose a non-Chromium browser carefully

I'd suggest to have several tags, like [PR] = Product Recommendation [HS] = Help Needed, [Travel] [Food] etc.

Like https://lemmy.ca/c/bapcsalescanada they have [CPU] [GPU] [Monitor]

But I'm not sure how should we organize these tags

Thank you bearish!

I'd fly to Calgary, rent a car, and drive to Glacier National Park. If time permits, I'd also visit Banff National Park

I'm an Ontario resident, and I had been planing a trip to Alaska. For obvious reason, I'm re-routing to BC for glacier.

I have several doubts about this trip:

  1. As a first-time traveller for glacier, which park/route do you suggest?
  2. I'm not a fan of hiking. Can I stay on the driveway?
  3. I'm planning a 5-day trip. Is it too short?

Thank you!

Here are my two cents

I can put some extra payments on my mortgage and consider this a bond for a few years.

I think it worth some calculation about mortgage vs bond. When you pay extra mortgage, you're saving your after-tax money from interest. When you invest in bonds, your interest earn is pre-tax. As you have kids, I assume you have some tax credit so your marginal tax rate is not so high.

Next is the US allocation.

I just learned that VOO in RRSP are exempt from 15% tax withholding. [1] Is your RRSP contribution enough for the US allocation you expect?

For me, I have some high PE, big cap stocks for Canadian market. My US allocation use for hedging CAD/USD, as my income is in CAD

My first thought was framework, they're a transparent and small business and super linux-friendly. However, I just found that

Headquarters Address: 447 Sutter St, PMB 135, San Francisco, CA, 94108-4618, United States Trademark: Framework®, Registered in U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

https://frame.work/ca/en/contact-us

Edit: I found a wiki page listing laptop brands, and there are several non-US brands https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_laptop_brands_and_manufacturers

I like Pop!OS, but fine to migrate

I think you don't need to migrate if you find a laptop that works great in Ubuntu/Fedora/etc. IHMO most linux-related issues are caused by drivers, especially NVIDIA and WiFi. If the kernel is updated, then different distros should behave similarly.

AMD also claims that the Ryzen AI Max 395+’s integrated graphics, the Radeon 8060S, can beat the RTX 4070 laptop GPU by up to 68%

This sounds really promising. IMO previous NUC products are only targeting multimedia, and they performed poor at gaming. If a NUC could have at least mid-level gaming PC's performance, it will be very attractive to those who have limited desk space

I would suggest every person to have a try. Even you feel SIFU too hard, you can only play 30 minutes.

This is the only game which gives me the feeling that I’m inside a 1980s Hong Kong Kung Fu movie. The only game.

Today I purchased Citterio Sliced Assorted Meat at Costco. This is my first time buying Italian Panini sliced assorted meats. Could anyone tell me that which is in my plate?

  • Sweet capocolla
  • Mortadella
  • Prosciutto cotto

Thank you.

I was trying to create a community with id=til_about_computer_science name=TIL about Computer Science

However, everytime I click "Create", there was no response.

The console log says

Do I just need to wait for a while?

Besides, there was no UI on the webpage telling me what was wrong
