Connect for Lemmy App

Any possibility of porting the app to Windows anytime soon?

Is there any way to filter or exclude these? I know people post the same link to different communities around the same time to get maximum reach but it gets annoying seeing the same post 2-3 times in a row.

Maybe get the app to read the link, see if it's posted by the same user, then only show the first occurrence/post?

I already swipe to hide the post but I don't want to be hiding everything.

Anyway, just a thought and see if anyone else has a workaround.

The most important thing: I can't find Connect from the android share menu.

Second: There should be a "suggest title" button as in Boost.

Hello, I've seen a bunch of comments recently that are just grey boxes which take a good two dozen swipes or more to scroll to the bottom of. I assumed they were trolls at first, but I checked one in a web browser today and it's a comment that includes an animated file:

This has been going on since I joined months ago, so I don't think it's a recent update thing.

Anyway, if I click on a post of a news article or something, and then within that article click to a second (and third or fourth etc.) page for more information, when I then click the "back" button on my Android, it returns me all the way back to the app rather than to my previous page online. I'd love if it worked like in a standard browser and just brought me back one page rather than closing the browser window.

When I tap that in Connect, i get an error that it can't find it. It says error [email protected] unknown.

When I tap that in Firefox it resolves just fine.

I've got three accounts on different instances. When I switch accounts, it sometimes removes an account from the thingy on the left. I think it's related with the servers updating to a new version of Lemmy, but I'm not sure.

Not sure how the gif (?) is getting linked to the post, so here it is again:

This is only annoying when the detail of the image is not important and when a larger version of the thumbnail (?) would suffice.

If possible, can a notification bar be shown that the image is broken instead of covering the partial image with the link broken icon?

Just a quick note that Instance upgrades appear to break Connect. It's no biggie! Just re-login and all is good. (Some of my existing connectons worked, some didn't.)

Im on a galaxy s22+. This started happening the same time the upvotes downvote buttons started to glitch in the UI which I have also posted about.

This issue is more annoying. When I am mid response, I'll often leave the app to get more accurate info in what I'm trying to say. When I come back to Lemmy, it's all black. Nothing. But my button presses are still registering.

If I go to the app switcher (bottom left android button) thing, and reselect Lemmy, it fixes and the display returns.

But if I react by pressing the back button, I lose my response, I lose the post I was responding to, I sometimes can't even relocate the thread I was in easily.

I can't upload images I have taken on my phone. I get an error that says "unexpected character at Character1"

I'm new to Connect and didn't seem to have this issue on liftoff. Is there a workaround for this or something?

Idk what that means but they all were light orange, not blue or gray like they were before and are right now. It isn't an issue and I'm just curious if someone seen it too or it was my junk phone misbehaving. Felt like I activated Lemmy Premium.

I use Connect, and it shows comment count but when I open the post I get no comments waaaayyyy too often, if I open the post in a browser I get all the comments why ?

It's really annoying and prevents good conversations.

I even get replys I can't interact with I see their comment un my notifications but I cant open it or reply.

I moderate a very small community but I'd like to be able to pin posts and have access to other general moderator tools like removing posts/comments and locking threads.
It doesn't seem that I can do any of that with Connect and it's cumbersome at best to try to do it on a mobile browser.
Are there any plans to implement mod tools? Or is there a setting I missed somewhere that enabls them?

Very very frustrating and keeps happening to every time I use the app. I type full paragraphs that disaapear if I look away from the screen 10 seconds and it dims black (did not even lock phone or exit app). It haapened this time while I was reading the comment I typed before posting it. I cannot stress how awful that is and it was gone, no draft and not saved anywhere.
Please fix.

I have no idea if this is possible to implement on the client side, but it would be really cool to be able to pick which subbed communities are emphasized or de-emphasized in your feed.

For example if you're on a niche sub that only gets a few posts per week, maybe you want to ALWAYS see new content regardless of how many upvotes or comments it gets.

Conversely, I enjoy a few meme subs, but right now Risa completely dominates new/hot/best filtering for me. I'd be perfectly happy just seeing the top few posts sprinkled throughout my feed.

Howdy y'all! I'm still enjoying Connect and recommending it to everyone, but I've been having more and more issues displaying comments, either when opening a post that clearly says "X comments" but ends up being empty, or when clicking on "View more (X)" on my profile only for it to disappear. Any idea why? I haven't blocked any instances or anything.

I'm trying to make posts. I've got an image hosted on catbox, so I'm posting only text and links. Most days I can make about 4 before I get that error. (I save my posts for when I have time.) Today, I got it after the first one. Is this a Lemmy thing, or Connect, or my instance or the instance I'm posting on?

Additionally, is there anything I can do to avoid hitting it? The obvious solution is to post more spaced out, but that doesn't work great with my schedule.

Is anyone else having the issue where you're 30 comments deep into a post, you reply to a comment and when you submit it refreshes the whole post making you lose your spot in the comments?

Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

I'm on a Google Pixel if that's relevant.

You cannot use the translate function in lemmy Connect.

Would make it easier to keep track of what filters I have in place and delete duplicates
