So I don't know if I'm missing something. The beam blocks ANY video from being displayed in any app from my phone. Even the ones that allow an external screen or chromcast. You can see t

he closed captioning and hear sound but the video itself is black. It is fine showing everything o. My phone before I start video. Then it blacks it out. The whole point t is to be able to stream from my phone and its blocked.

How do you carry your Xreal Beam?

Knowing the Beam have an exhaust on the top blowing out hot air, it's recommended not to put inside pocket...but I had been putting in my pocket feeling warm (Singapore weather)

How you guys are carrying your Xreal Beam?

I noticed there is a lanyard hole at the bottom right...is hanging on the neck a good option (with all the cables & adapter dangling?)

Can I use the beam and have the glasses work normally? Ie without smooth follow? I just want them to work as they would as if I wasn't using the beam. The beam enables sound to work in my chromcast setup where normally I wouldn't have sound to the glasses. Which is another thing I can't figure out. Shouldn't the sound work connected directly to glasses if it works connected thru the beam?

  • Beam gets released July 25

  • I get my shipping notification on July 27 -- Status: Shipping Label Printed

  • Friend sees Beam being sold at a local eCommerce site on July 27. He cancels his preorder and buys that

  • His Beam arrived today, August 1

  • Friend rubs it in my face.

  • I just checked the tracking status of my order - Status: Shipping Label Printed

Just bought & received my Xreal Beam, yes it's nice to have the ability to beam my iOS onto my glasses but ...yeah problem streaming some videos from safari to the xreal air via beam.

The stream stops & broke the WIFI connection via iPhone 14 Pro Max WIFI hotspot every time I stop the video and youtube videos cannot drag the video progress forward as it reset the playback timing to the beginning of an 11 hours video.

That does stop me using the Xreal Air for my 2 hours walking exercise as I will be fumbling around connecting & disconnecting the Xreal Air & beam via WIFI hotspot.

Can't wait for my Xreal HDMI adapter to arrive so I can connect to my Apple iPhone Adaptor to my phone instead of beaming via WIFI.

I love how beam allow me to have 3 different modes to view the screen, the side view with smaller screen does help when walking so I won't be walking into people but hopefully able to adjust the size of the smaller screen a bit...as it looks too small.

The smooth follows is awesome when standing still or seating position like in a bus or train...as you relax & watch some content...while commuting to work & off work.

The Anchor view is pretty cool when you can fix the screen position to a specific wall or space & turn to see your other screen on the actual monitor creating a virtual 2nd screen...for other important but not key apps that can run at the background...like spotify, youtube or podcasts...

Realised the left temple of Xreal Air gets a bit warm after an hour of use, a taped insulation sponge helped relieve the warm feeling on the left leg of Xreal Air.

Some questions to you all or Xreal Tech Support

  1. When will Xreal Beam support an appstore?
  2. Can Xreal Beam support external SD/TF card or external HDD?
  3. When will music streaming app, podcast app, youtube app be available on Beam?
  4. Will there be a new Xreal Beam that have an additional USB C port for charging while connected using cable instead of WIFI?

Love Xreal Air! Hopefully more accessories are available directly from Xreal!

So before I got my beam, I enjoyed playing on my ROG Ally it was showing full screen on my Xreal. With smooth follow on the beam or anchor, I can kinda see the borders of the screen when I move my head around. Is there an option for pass through as if the I was directly connected via cable to my ROG Ally? I got the beam primarily to resize the display but didint want the smooth follow option on.

I recently picked up an xreal air and after some tinkering I feel like there's a simple solution here to watch VR videos on this device.

You can hook the headset up to a windows pc and turn on 3D mode and use phoenixheadtracker to control the mouse with your head movement.

So using Whirlgig with certain settings to allow the mouse to control looking around like you would with a VR headset it seems like you could easily allow this to play VR videos like you're looking at them through a VR headset. I haven't quite figured out the settings for it to look great yet but this seems definitely possible as an option for VR video viewing on a PC. Heresphere might also work.

Hey! Just got my Airs a couple of weeks ago, loving them, so decided to also get the Beam.

Question - virtual desktop on Mac is good, love three screens, and the stabilization is pretty good. For anybody who has one and has tested, is the stabilization for the spatial display better with Beam hardware vs the Nebula Mac app?

I was wondering if its normal that I have to position my glasses to the lower part of my eyes so I can see a complete view of the screen?. Otherwise I feel the need to turn down and see whatever info I need like playing steam deck and taking at look at life bars or reading subtitles on Netflix.

It's a little uncomfortable since I leave the upper part of my eyes uncovered a little

I saw a post recently saying that there was going to be another round of beta testing for the latest nebula windows update , but haven’t heard anything further about that, and would appreciate info on the status of that.

Per title... looks like I'll have to do a return and re-buy since Amazon doesn't want to price match

Display was off but music played. Display activated with slightly wrong colors, changed to small horizontal colored line and air shut down.

It doesn't start after it - no nebula, no dex on both my devices (they just see any connected usb devices when I connect Air), also doesn't detect anything. Trying with alternative cables (which I use for DeX) doesn't help too.

Any options?

Over time the software + just getting used to the hardware has made these so much better.

Took me forever to realize that the main value of the nose pieces is not just comfort -- it's so you can see all 4 corners of the screen in fullscreen mode.

Once I realized that I swapped my middle for a large and damn are toolbars easier to see + navbars easier to read!

Also I realized I had been running the AR on 72 hz mode (which is awesome, but more than I need for casual video viewing), so I dropped it down to 60 and suddenly video became buttery smooth, no weird tearing or artifacts.

Also clicking the arms up to find the right offset height.

Then I realized you can subscribe to shows on a ton of other channels through YouTube, and then watch them with no DRM issues via YouTube desktop, which works super well. Watching movies on it with good headphones is just amazing, you get so much fine tune control of the screen and how you position yourself.

And there are so many Samsung DeX optimizations I've been able to make to make it more livable -- tweaking font sizes, figuring out the best browsers and IDEs for software development. Updateing One UI and customizing the navbar, etc.

Also little tricks like learning Ctrl + L jumps to the URL bar in a browser (since for whatever reason Chrome doesn't auto focus).

So much fun, excited to see how fast they can move the software side.

So I got the beam and was super excited for it. Spatial aware display is really nice but I'm struggling to find it be convenient enough to any particular workflow to make it worthwhile....

As a display to watch content — it's a better TV for sure. But severely hamstrung by DRM compatibility since the only media I'm able to watch is YouTube. I'm using an iphone and airplay feels pretty finicky. When it works, it's good, but incredibly frustrating when it doesn't connect and I'm sitting there looking at the homescreen for a few minutes before giving up and resetting the device. Once again I know they're suppose to fix Netflix and Disney plus but this device is a really expensive YouTube viewer ATM.

On Android, I was excited to get a full spatial desktop display with dex and beam. But for the life of me I can't get audio to go through the beam and to the glasses. Audio only plays on the phone when playing through beam. If I connect directly to the phone, audio comes through to the glasses. I also checked my nebula version (on my and I'm on 3.4.0. additionally, I can't really tell if I'm getting 120hz. The screen is pretty jittery if I move my head around — anybody else notice this?

My primary use for the airs right now is primarily to play steam deck, which is phenomenal. Although having spatial display would be nice I can't say the additional wiring with the beam is worth the tradeoff either.

What's everybody else's thoughts?

When using the Beam wired or wirelessly connected to my phone, should I pair and connect the Bluetooth buds to the Beam or to the phone. I'm currently using a Samsung Z Fold 4 in my setup.

During my first test about 2 weeks ago after receiving the Beam. I was able to film on the sofa for about 2 1/2h. I noticed that this device gets very hot and you can touch it very uninhibitedly. Nevertheless, I was able to stream my movies until the battery was almost empty.

After today's update version 1.6, if I'm not mistaken. As usual, I tried to enjoy my movies via the Beam on the sofa. After exactly 45 minutes I got a message displayed that the Beam is too hot and will soon turn off. After about 30 seconds, the Beam turns off automatically.

Possibly, this issue could have been caused by today's update, but according to the update information, the temperature issues should be fixed.

For this reason, I can only recommend that you wait a little longer with the update.

Hello, I’ve been on the fence for months about getting a pair (or getting the virtues)

The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on either of them is that for the life of me I can’t think of a single time I would use them…

I don’t take many flights (once every two years or so)

I don’t work from home

I feel like I would be able to justify buying them if I could think of a situation where they would be great

Please help
