Summary

White House adviser Mike Waltz said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky must return to negotiations and agree to a U.S. deal for access to Ukraine's critical minerals, linking it to past and future American aid.

Zelensky rejected the proposal, saying he "can't sell our state." The dispute comes amid strained U.S.-Ukraine relations, with Trump negotiating directly with Russia on ending the war.

Zelensky was excluded from recent U.S.-Russia talks, raising concerns in Kyiv.

Meanwhile, Trump's calling Zelensky a "dictator" has further escalated tensions.

I think it should go without saying that every single country that hosts a U.S. military base should kick the yanks the fuck out and send them packing.

They’ve shown their hands. They’re facists who would rather side with Putin than support democracy. The US is no longer a trustworthy ally.

FUCK. AMERICA.

That is exactly what the Russians want America to do. Russia is creating a massive split in the West, causing America to turn in on itself, causing allies to condemn the US and Europe to fall apart.

Trumputin and the Whitehouse administration is with and for Russia. I can't see the rest of the USA putting up with this, it's own military included, despite the electoral outcome.

In the meantime Europe needs to pull together, significantly up it's military capability to be comparable to the USA and be prepared to take on Russia by itself. A huge task but necessary.

This split seems more likely by the day.
But it won't help Russia, because Europe will pull together and increase aid to Ukraine, and I seriously doubt Americans really want this split. So in the most extreme case, Trump will be removed, and things will hopefully normalize.

But I think the split will indeed get worse before it returns to normal again.
I bet at least 90% of American politicians are very well aware who their true allies are, and it's not the dictators Trump wants to work with.

American here. You are absolutely correct. Europeans need to be calling their government representatives en masse demanding they do everything in their power to disengage from the US. Including evicting the US military.

Ideally, they should muster their own men and seize what they can of our military equipment and send our troops packing as disarmed POWs. Any equipment that makes it back to the CONUS will be used against its people, and in the darkest timeline, against them.

"seize what they can of our military equipment"

The United States would absolutely obliterate Europe in that situation and a Russia/USA alliance would be cemented within hours (edit: and by this I mean a full military alliance and coordinated attacks and land divvied up). If Europe tries to seize or attack any USA assets it would be catastrophic.

Europe needs to rearm, start building a stronger European defense industry (while hopefully putting up strong guard rails), and should probably peacefully push American troops out.

Europe can probably defend against Russia on its own right now. If they're a bit short of that capability, they can reach it relatively quickly. They are many years away from being able to attack the USA without it going badly for them.

As an American it saddens me to say that those military bases could quickly become the gravest threats to many once allies. Trump has been threatening to pull out American troops. Europe should get a plan in place to start rearming, and crucially, training large swaths of the population in basic military prowess. And then encourage Trump to withdraw troops.

It disgusts me to say this, but I would not be shocked if Trump dos indeed snatch territory from Europe or Canada.

It's no longer inconceivable that the USA and Russia, and hell maybe even China, end up in some loose "non interference" alliance where they divvy up spheres of influence.
