Would be good to have some Dota representation on this sub but I honestly don't know the best is place to catch up on news. joinDota is closed since 2022 in terms of actual articles and news coverage and I don't follow the scene slavishly anymore so I just poke around on Liquipedia around major tournaments.
i mean there's barely any dota representation on the dota sub lmao and it has 10 times as many readers than this place. the place wouldn't have had a post in two weeks if i hadn't started posted tournament threads.
It might currently be a little split too, seeing as there is a Dota sub over on .world as well, and I know there are people who outright refuse to participate in subs on .ml. Though the threads over on .world get even less traction. Would still be a good idea to consolidate subs though I think.
yeah, i have no clue how this website as whole works. when i plug in .world to the end i see that there ARE some other posts.
lmao, and the one guy that is copying my posts
He has an agenda against .ml. I haven't personally witnessed any mod or admin overreach on the (non political, non news) subs I participate in on .ml, but I can understand why some people are against the instance.
I would have preferred him to attempt a consolidation effort rather than straight up doing counter programming though.
i have no clue what the difference between ml or world or why he would ahve an agenda vs ml. i legit just tried to find the largest dota group to join.
.ml is the instance maintained by the Lemmy developers and was the first general purpose instance, so it has a lot of big communities on it due to that. It has a reputation for hosting a lot of mods that are so called "tankies". I haven't really rubbed up against this behaviour myself as I mostly stay away from news and politics subs.
There is a whole sub dedicated to hating on them called [email protected] but I don't hang around there either. I don't care much for the political squabbles.
gotcha. lmao, i've definitely hated on several folks in other areas enough to get comments removed. i've also blocked a few people because they're clearly unhinged.
