You aren't going to like this...

When you all giving up NHL?

A league that has a vast majority of American teams, American oligarch owners, American head office, millionaire American League boss, American sponsorships, American advertisements, American everything.

There is loads of local Canadian hockey available yet here we are. Rejoicing and cheering at Americanized Canadians playing "our" sport. Attending games, Posting and commenting, watching and buying merch, subscribing, making millionaires and billionaires.

So when are you giving up the NHL?

not support American business. That's it. That's what this entire community is about.

I thought the community was about supporting the Buy Canadian movement? I'm sorry but you haven't really given an alternative solution to do so, you've only said "don't watch the NHL" which this person said they don't do in a way that the Americans can monetize. You suggest watching minor leagues, but many of those minor leagues are also in bed with the NHL (AHL, ECHL, CHL) for funding and farm teams, so should we be excluding those minor leagues as well from the list?

The point they're trying to make is that you have come in here with these demands but no alternative solutions. Did you also make your kids give up all TV and movie entertainment because most is produced in the US? This sort of attack on someone already trying their best is going to drive people away from the cause. What was the shitty AI otter on Lemmy yesterday saying about "stop tearing down your allies because they aren't as intense as you"?

No demands. Questions.

I haven't made my kids give up anything. They have done it on their own because their parents are doing it. You know setting an example as parents should. And yes they've given up American media. By choice not demand. No fascists in this house.

Options exist. I only challenged one of them. The NHL. Lots of other options out there and hockey fans such as this one are well aware of their options as seen in the post reply.

They also say nothing about limiting their American input.
