Oh most definitely, under the local laws here drivers are required to yield to a pedestrian if they can reasonably do so. If they hit me they would always be liable since it doesn’t matter if I had been in a marked crosswalk (like I was) or not since they have the responsibility to stop.

Sad thing is this isn’t even a rare occurrence, it happens almost every single day and nothing is done about it
