RULES (updated 01/22/25)

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling. To be concise, disrespect is defined by escalation.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible. You won't be punished for trying.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (politics or societal debates come to mind, though we are not saying not to talk about anything that resembles these). There's a guide in the protocol book offered as a mod model that can be used for that; it's vague until you realize it was made for things like the rule in question. At least four purple answers must apply to a "controversial" message for it to be allowed.
  4. Keep it clean and SFW: No illegal content or anything gross and inappropriate. A rule of thumb is if a recording of a conversation put on another platform would get someone a COPPA violation response, that exact exchange should be avoided when possible.
  5. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc. The chart redirected to above applies to spam material as well, which is one of the reasons its wording is vague, as it applies to a few things. Again, a "spammy" message must be applicable to four purple answers before it's allowed.
  6. Respect privacy as well as truth: Don’t ask for or share any personal information or slander anyone. A rule of thumb is if something is enough info to go by that it "would be a copyright violation if the info was art" as another group put it, or that it alone can be used to narrow someone down to 150 physical humans (Dunbar's Number) or less, it's considered an excess breach of privacy. Slander is defined by intentional utilitarian misguidance at the expense (positive or negative) of a sentient entity. This often links back to or mixes with rule one, which implies, for example, that even something that is true can still amount to what slander is trying to achieve, and that will be looked down upon.

I keep thinking about stuff like:

  • The fact that there are galaxies I won't be able to visit (because I'd be dead before humanity goes interstellar)
  • The face that my childhood sucked and I could never really experince a normal childhood again in this lifetime (feeling of "nostalgia")
  • The fact that there are secrets the government is hiding that the average civillian will never be able to know (fear of "missing out")
  • We may never discover the true nature / true origin of the universe (at least, not in my lifespan)
  • Not knowing if the world is even real (as in, simulation theory, solipcism)
  • There would be Movies and TV shows I wont be able to experience (fear of missing out)
  • There were technology that I never got to experience "in the moment": telegraphs, black and white tv, radios, old gaming devices, etc... (I mean yes, they still exist, but its not the same as experiencing it in that time period). To be clear, I still prefer current and future technology, but I just want to go back in time for like a week to check things out like it was back then, then come back, you get what I'm saying?

I can't ever just stop thinking and relax. My brain is so fucked.

This isn't like a "phase", this has been my life for years. Constant non-stop thoughts. 😓

If I were to give my own commentary on each one...

  1. Humanity probably won't go interstellar like that. It's quite established, to my knowledge, that nothing can travel faster than light. Anyone who ever remotely suggests otherwise in this day and age is trying to sell you something. The amount of lightyears you look in a direction is how long ago you're seeing it from. If we could travel faster than that, it would be odd that we cannot view galaxies from afar at the same speed. And that is arguably for the best, considering faster-than-light travel allowed Palpatine to take over the Star Wars galaxy. The universe is, in other words, federated. If that's a good way to put it, we probably weren't meant to visit other galaxies. It would be like God's safety measure.
  2. We can still help you achieve a good time and make up for what was lost. It doesn't have to be in the form of a childhood, whose definition is debatable anyways.
  3. The way I see it... everyone has "secrets" (and some lie about it, while with others it's just "secrets"). Trade secrets. Family secrets. Embarrassing secrets. It's 2025 and we still don't even know Victoria's secret. The government is just another piece of the tradition. It's kind of hard to imagine someone interrogating someone asking "what are your secrets". It's better to find gaps and then look for what people might have said about it.
  4. I mean, the question of the origin of the universe is metaphysical, which is not bound by such a physical question. I have such an answer I cling to, though easily I understand it's still a matter of interpretation.
  5. If the world isn't real, it means there is something external to it. ~~Morty, if you're reading this, you probably think you're some random lemming who quotes our adventures; you're actually trapped inside a broken Blipz N Chitz game, where I'm sending this message to in order to try to reach you, and I will get you out of there as soon as I beat my ski ball high score.~~
  6. Same here. Avatar Seven Havens was just announced. I'll have cosplayed as Avatar Pavi in my art collections another five times already by the time it's out considering they announced a 2027 release date. They're really wanting to stretch my tolerance of life for that long, eh?
  7. The only remarkable moment I know of from a technology being invented is that the first travelling hot air balloon was struck down by French peasants who thought it was a monster.
