Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Any woman-identified person under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is welcome.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend [email protected] for that, but here is an escape from it.

MODERATORS

Be mindful of no politics, so you can talk about say, an assault on women's rights, but don't go into specific political actions or politicians.

I'm scared for the LGBT community. I'm horribly upset for trans people as they're being attacked from all angles. I'm scared for me, because a lot of the arguments people are using about trans used to be used against LGB. They're coming for us next.

It also effects women's rights. A lot of anti trans people IME are misogynistic too... it's ludicrous to suggest men spewing bile about trans people in women's bathrooms care about women. They don't.

The way I'm dealing with it is by volunteering in my local LGBT group, and educating myself on LGBT DA so I can help my LGBT clients. I also started this group so at least women have a nice women's space to hang out in on lemmy.

Yep, the same people attacking trans rights are attacking women's rights. Personally I don't think it's a coincidence that the rise of bigotry happened at exactly the same time as the rise of the manosphere. It's the patriarchy and 'masculinity' driving this, plain and simple. I don't like stereotypes but the biggest and most unashamed bigots I've met in my life have all been men. ESPECIALLY the kind of men that are constantly worried and insecure about being 'manly'.

Not saying that women like J.K. Rowling don't exist but I don't think the score is even close to a draw.

Mate you make some absolutely excellent points. Thinking about it, the rise of bigotry happened at the same time as the rise of the manosphere. I've read a ton of articles on incels and lone actor grievance fuelled violence, and they're bigoted about loads. They have special slurs for non white, disabled, lgbt etc... they hate so much they've got their own language. The research really does back up what you're saying and frighteningly, it says how much it's linked to truly horrible crimes

I agree, the JKs do exist but from where I'm sat, it's heavily male dominated.
