It's annoying they still haven't began thinking of the deficit more in MMT terms than a family budget. The pandemic reminded them of some lessons learned during WW2 but it seems that we're reverting back to the neoclassical way of thinking. Public service that doesn't compete with private sector really doesn't need to be cut. Printing to fund it and it won't increase inflation. If anything it would keep aggregate demand instead of shrinking it.
