Smiling neoliberalism is on it's last legs: when money was cheap and you didn't have to worry about right-wing demagogues grifting on protofascist rage, it was great. You could take corporate cash, sell off assets, strike up commissions and committees and generally do as little as possible.
Everyone (who mattered) made money, and it was great.
