Smiling neoliberalism is on it's last legs: when money was cheap and you didn't have to worry about right-wing demagogues grifting on protofascist rage, it was great. You could take corporate cash, sell off assets, strike up commissions and committees and generally do as little as possible.

Everyone (who mattered) made money, and it was great.

Well, it's the end of the road, voters are actually expecting results, and painting park benches with rainbows isn't going to cut it, especially now that Conservatives don't hate brown people any more.

Remember that time Steven Del Duca was the OLP leader? He literally had his campaign all but written for him thanks to the many public blunders of DF, but he dropped the ball. Failed to campaign in any meaningful capacity. Didn't take the gimme shots at DF that would have cemented his status as being more pragmatic. Didn't take him to task on healthcare privatization, even though he was caught red-handed consulting on privatization in 2018. And now he's the mayor of one of the most conservative enclaves in Canada: Vaughan, ON. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

I actually have no idea who the OLP leader is, like at all. Same with NDP. I mean can't they just dress up a potato or something for the next election so someone can beat DF?

Good riddance to the OLP. I remember how they acted when it looked like the ONDP might win the 2018 election. They basically attacked the ONDP and advocated that people vote "strategically" to stop them from winning.
