Yeah because first past the post is used by right wing parties to suppress popular vote. And most people care about that, unless you live in buttfuck nowhere and get all your news from rebel media and Fox News

Because FPTP is not democratic
Most people in the developed world in Canada and the US know what the problem is and want to do something about it ... but they don't have political power or access to political power, no matter how they feel, even if their feelings are the majority of the country.
FPTP gives all the power to a minority wealthy group of corporations and people
FPTP is not democratic ... it is a system that enables an Oligarchy, a Plutocracy, an Aristocracy ... it most definitely does not run on the will of the people which is what Democracy is supposed to be.
One of the first steps to dealing with all this is to stop referring to these existing systems as 'DEMOCRATIC' because they are not.
