I think this is a good thing, you came to an important realisation and your fear is doing its job of warning you about a very real danger. As long as you listen to it and don't let it overwhelm you maybe it can help you take action.
Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
I've been there, it's not a big deal.
I was having a heart attack back in January but they needed to move me to a different hospital for surgery. Due to a snow and ice storm, I was stuck at hospital #1 for 2 extra days.
Wake up at 6 AM, fiddling on my phone. Nurse comes in:
"Hey, were you asleep about an hour ago?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Your heart stopped for 8 seconds."
". . . Um... 'thank you'? I'm not sure how to respond to that..."
I never would have known. I have an implanted heart monitor now.
It can be a big deal if you're actually aware of what's happening.
It's easy to feel like you're okay dying alone until you are in a position where you might die alone.
Is there anything in your life at the moment that makes you think you going to die alone?
