This is my big concern. ever increasing prices, as they lock us out of low cost stores to maximize their profit.
Loblaws is out of control
A sub devoted to highlighting the ridiculous cost of living in Canada right now. We’d like to thank our corporate overlord Galen Weston Jr. of Loblaws for continually raising grocery prices so he can get a big fat bonus cheque every year while the rest of Canadians struggle to make ends meet.
Could they not have a pickup window that anyone can just have their groceries prepared even if there's the Doordash service charge?
This whole monopolies forcing more middlemen in the equation is sickening.
Stop giving money to the Weston's.
I walked by the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto for the first time in years recently. I noticed two new Weston family plaques (ie, 'this wing, that wing' blah blah) outside the building 🤮. I'm sure we'll hear more about price-fixing schemes, pocketing of subsidies for rural areas, casualization of workforce, and their role in food deserts again soon
Shopping at Loblaws, Walmart and Amazon would keep North America poor.
