I am giving a bag with one of each type of biscuit to my family, plus a tub full for my Mum and a tub for each of the two teams I am with at work. Plus a smaller container for me.

arghghhghhg slept in lounge because we're still separating cats, proved once again that I can sleep through anything by waking up to a giant pile of cat puke next to head. Strip the jacquards off couches to wash, figure hey I should flip the cushions anyway, vac cushions, flip cushions, see dustbunnies, start vacuuming and now I'm fucking deep cleaning the loungeroom with a detour to deep clean the dyson because someone has been using it past the MAX FILL line........

After the period of unemployment, in which life was awful and I had no purpose, it's strange to suddenly have "acceptable" free time. Paid even!

I'm glad i would never ever shack up with anyone at work because they're not my type anyway so even my dumbest lizard brain wouldn't go there. I am giggling at everything right now and I'm in bed in a dark room. This is stupid. Fucking margarita did me in. Pray for me tomorrow. Thanks. I'm not sure how I'm meant to go to sleep rn. wow. Maybe I'll watch site inspections YouTubes until my brain explodes.

I thought I'd lost Miss Meow this afternoon, but she was just in my wardrobe snoozing on my socks. Escaping the baking chaos.

Was given 7am start on NYE and 8am start on NYD. Good thing I don't have NYE plans! Last year I felt sorry for myself because I was alone and all my friends were out with their partners or overseas lol. Now I don't give a shit. Normalise not going out on NYE.

5 days left until the big day. Now that I have a choice, I don't think I'm going to celebrate. I was considering buying a roast or a ham and doing something with it, but I don't think I'm really even interested in that. It doesn't really make me sad or anything, but it doesn't bring me joy, so it just seems like a waste of time thing that I do to make other people happy

New Year's I've decided I'll stay home. My entire life I wanted to see fireworks, but pre 2019 was complicated by loving in the country. 2019 I was too young, 2020 they replaced it with a "3 day food and wine tasting festival", 2021 I got COVID and was too sick to go, 2022 and 2023 I finally saw them! But repetitive now I reckon. I'll probably watch them on tv and might order in a midnight kebab or something for the same vibe

The random $45.67 I got in my bank account yesterday was indeed from the ATO! Seems like a calculation was done that determined I paid that much too much towards my HECS which is now paid off

Something we noticed in NZ was beer sizes. We just wanted a six pack. There was Corona or Heineken. No. When in Rome and all that biz. There was 12 packs or 30 of kiwi beer. So we settled for a six pack of Speight cans. Cans were 440ml each. I don't do cans but they were the closest we could get. We spent so much time in the freezer humming and harring it was ridiculous. So many times the man picked up 12 and said "fuck it" and I made him put it back because we had things to do the next day.

Sitting on the soccer oval in Queenstown, drinking beer and watching the planes and helicopters take off and land is a memory I'll never forget.

Lunch to follow after which I hope to bugger off home as long as I don’t get held back by anything.

It's been at 30° inside for the last like 3 hours. I just checked the weather, and apparently it's 23° outside and has been for a while 🤦‍♂️

E: oh, and the move is officially done, keys handed back at 3pm. We only had about 45 minutes to get everything done. I ended up only being able to take the stuff I couldn't on Wednesday. No vacuuming or mopping. Oh well. It's not an obligation in LT - they don't take a bond, and hire cleaners after each move out anyway. But I feel grotty leaving it a mess

I somehow managed to pinch the skin of my little finger between the lever and body of the mixer tap so much that it bled. An injury I never knew was possible.

DONE FOR THE YEAR!!! Running for the exit as we speak.

I am starting to run out of room in my kitchen, there are biscuits everywhere! Just one more batch to go & I'll be finished baking and can start on dividing up & packaging. I did end up doing an extra batch too, as I realised there is nothing vegan friendly, so I made some oat & date biscuits that are vegan and wheat free. I also learned that in Australia you can't claim something is gluten free if it has oats because some people with Coeliacs Disease react to them, so wheat free is generally used instead.

I'm up. kitchen cleaning is well under way, then more clothes drying and folding, then look after the garden, vacuuming, take rubbish downstairs, clean up cat room, etc etc. then shopping

what I'm contributing/cooking this xmas

there's a big xmas lunch/dinner at the younger generation house

this year I'm doing bulk home made mini sausage rolls, fairy bread, a big salad, shortbread biscuits and am bringing rose wine, some baileys and much bundy lemonade ( plus I stuff a few hundreds in the hands of the hosts for their efforts, it costs a lot to cook big dinners )

and I’m done for the year!

Spent a gift card at Cole’s for some butterflies leg lamb and coleslaw which will be my special treat over the Xmas holidays.

Super hot outside while I was out and rushed to quickly put the washing on to take advantage of this sun and heat.

Now I can rest and relax!! Woot!
