Keep doing it. It’s like a way of deciding if he passes the test, or not.

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
Plus Nigel was there first
Idk I think it's kinda rude to keep doing it after he objects
What about dog Nigel's feelings?
Wasn't it a cat?
Yeah you're right. 🤦
Rude to the dog…why is no one considering the dogs feelings?
There's Nigel The Cat aka Nigel Original, then Nigel the Human aka Nigel II... There's a Nigel the Dog too? Oh dear...
It’s a cat. I’m forgetful and easily confused.
Now you should apologize to the Zebra.
I’ll apologise to the zebra, the cat, the none existent dog, and the human Nigel.
We had a guy at work called Fat Kyle.
This came in handy when we eventually got a second Kyle.
We had three Steves in my friendship group at college. Big Steve, Medium Steve, and Little Steve. Big Steve and Little Steve were a year up on the rest of us, so when they graduated, we only had Medium Steve left. We still called him Medium Steve for the whole year.
Regular sized Rudy
We're only making plans for Nigel. We only want what's best for him.
His future is in british steel
And if Nigel says he's happy
He must be happy
My sister dated a guy with the same name as me. We got numbers. I was P1, he was P3 (P2 was a coworker).
I'm in a larpgroup with 3 women with the same name. They decided they'd like to be called:
Name 1, Name A (conveniently her last name starts with an A) and Name 4.
And I love their choices.
In college I was in a theatre troupe with five Andys: Andy 1, Andy A, Andy Alpha, Evil Andy, and Andy Zero.
Andy Zero is calorie free.
A friend of mine named his dog Henry despite having a lifelong friend called Henry and I’m going to start doing this now.
Was it a good dog?
Being called "Human (Me)" as a family nickname would crack me up
I’d love being called the human version of a cat. She needs to kick that guy to the curb.
Someone translate?
