I hope a bunch of trans service members challenge this in court, because it’s arguable that an executive order can’t retroactively change military policy that allowed trans service people to serve openly under their correct gender identities.

I mean Biden did pass an executive order to enforce Title IX to protect trans people the same way in accord with SCOTUS's June 2020 Bostock decision
With a respectable government, EOs are toothless when the next administration can just reverse it, as seen on 1/20/24. When elections are being done away with, though, they can be quite impactful.
