Each of these posts have been accompanied by an image, a romantic fruit bowl bought by the guardian as a Valentine's gift. A bed in a new flat with one double bed to be share with the father, and a few others that followed the same pattern but I have forgotten the post. These posts also seem to delete.

Any ideas the hell is going on with this?

The bed is super weird. But it's not weird in a lot of places for valentines gifts to extend to "anyone you love in any capacity" instead of strictly romantic love. My mom has given me chocolates and a valentines card every year since I can remember and it's a normal thing around here.

Yeah I've given my daughter something for Valentines Day every year, it's pretty normal?

Yeah, my dad would get me and my twin something small and mother something big. So if he got her a lot of chocolates, we'd get a little thing of chocolates! The bed thing is

Weird.

true and i think within reason sending a family member a Valentines gift can be normal and have no romantic intention. the recent posting following a particular pattern of behavior does however concern me and without that previous context i wouldn't of noticed the bouquet of fruit.

I haven't seen any, but that's extremely strange. Sometimes we get trolls that spam racist memes on many accounts for a couple days at a time before getting bored of playing whack a mole as the moles, this might be a similar situation.

Its puzzling and keep an eye out they seem to get posted weekly. And when someone points out the oddness in the comment they are soon deleted.

I know, normally the racist trolls do it for the engagement, not to immediately delete upon getting pushback. It's odd, this is entirely different.

Yea troll posting can be fairly obvious. I'm wondering if this is some sort of dog whistle or maybe someone using the platform for some kind of acceptance and tbh most replies to these posts aren't in the negative.

the posts & comments on .world's and lemm.ee's conservative communities use same oddly diplomatic wording as well, so i've been attributing it to conservative trolls making multiple accounts for the day they're banned somewhere.

Conservatives don’t often show up on new communities with blatant conservatism. Instead, they try their best to integrate into the culture then slowly turn things rightward. Hell, that’s what happened to Reddit too.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

agreed and i think it's the clearest indicator of the reddit-like nature of both of those instances.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

Extremely strange.

Is it one person posting these, or multiple accounts? It might be a new guy. Maybe he thinks he has to get his karma up before he can enjoy the full site.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

They have all been day one accounts and has happened several times over the last few months.

I saw one of these arrangements from Dad earlier, started writing a comment then decided better.

Yes, this is definitely odd.

i will try and document them for a mega thread at somepoint, if you get the chance then send them my way :)

I just chose not to comment on that one haha
