Can you imagine working for $7.25 an hour in 2025!? No wonder red state people are so pissed. Wish they would direct their anger at the corporations and billionaires that are getting richer and richer due to greed while workers suffer...

I mean, at $16.66 or $34,652/yr isn’t livable either, at least in WA where the high is.
That’s not a living wage anywhere.
The "fight for $15" has gone on so long the liveable wage is well past that. In my relatively low COL state it is $21 an hour according to https://livingwage.mit.edu/
Funny how close to an electoral map this is. Not that the blue state minimum wages are high enough, but the red States want you to slave away with no dignity
The more a country/state's main industry is based on a simple commodity, the more likely it will be a crappy place to live in for a regular person because they are easily replaceable. The more complex an economy, the better the life of a regular person because training and experience makes them less replaceable, which allows them to have more of a voice.
This was my first thought too. Red states have low minimum wage.
Florida would like a word. And I'd say $15 is closer to the actual minimum you'll get paid around here.
Looks like Florida got it through a ballot measure so the legislators couldn't mess it up. Looks like they won't keep their fingers out of it for long though. They are talking about adding more exceptions.
And they're mad that there even is a federal minimum because they want to go lower
It's so disgusting...
Man, those red states really can't let go of slave labour, eh?
It would be more interesting to see this with a cost of living figure for each state as well.
the fact that Ohio, fucking Ohio, is doing something better than my state, makes me upset to no end.

wait till you see the prison labor stats and wages
Aw man, if I was in Washington, I could be making $0.16 more per hour! 😮💨
Damn! The fact that there's anyone with a higher minimum wage than California shocks me.
Wait, I thought everything was bigger in Texas?
