Marcus, but only once you have power armor to make sure he doesn't auto gib you with a wayward bozar blast

The configurable robo brain in 2.
I like giving it a monkey brain. π
Skynet, what a great part... If only it wasn't so hard xd
Dogmeat, Sulic and Vic.
Vic? But why?
All that dude does is suck and kill himself on the best days, or suck and kill you along with him on the worst!
Fun missions and comments. I also try to avoid only min-maxing in FO1/2. It's sort of roleplay to assume that you would stick together since he is one of the first companions.
That's fair. I was actually gonna edit my reply to ask if Vic has special dialogue anywhere because I've usually gotten rid of him as soon as a better party member is obtainable.
Just the usual random statements and his personal mission stuff.
Same, except any dog in the old games. I still shudder thinking of how buggy or chaotic they were.
I had to kill dogmeat at the church part in fallout 1, and while i didn't get him in 2, i got the pariah dog. How i was so naive...
I finished Fallout 1 with Dogmeat. I did play a few years after the release though, so most of the harshest bugs might have been patched.
I always rather liked Cassidy, but Sulik could get pretty murdery at higher levels with some suitable gear.
I like them both, but sulik just has a unique character lol
We and I know many things.
I don't normally play FO1 or 2 with human companions. I've done it to see what the games have to offer, but I gravitate towards going without them on normal playthroughs. I do have a soft spot for FO1 dogmeat. I like the two methods of recruiting him, and that he's a true mutt instead of the modern German shepherd look.
In Fallout Tactics, I've got to give it up to my friend Pipboy. Just a mascot costumed weirdo wandering the wasteland with an FN FAL.
I prefer to stick to humanoid companions, so humans or mutants. I never liked the dog companions in the old games, mainly due to how buggy they were implemented or they're the pariah dog lol
All the companions in FO1 are super buggy and don't give enough control to keep them from being a liability. Ian is infamous for his SMG bursts for a reason. None of the three available humans have any real narrative behind them either, they are all just gun jockies hanging around who decide to follow you. At least Dogmeat doesn't spray 10mm rounds into my back.
FO2 is way more viable as a party game, and the party members are actually varied and interesting, but putting points into charisma to get a good amount of them honestly pains me to do.
I've been between Dogmeat and Charon.
Sulik, Cassidy, and Marcus. We and I be happy to travel.
Incredibly solid choice, those companions are 100% in my top five
I never get tired of watching Sulik send a dude to the other side of the map with a super sledge. Cassidy with a combat shot gun is pretty deadly, and Marcus is absolutely a friendly fire machine, but heβs voiced by Michael Dorn, so he gets a pass. :D
