not applicable because you can definitely buy this book elsewhere. amazon marketplace is escapable, AWS is not

You can, but why would they want to decrease visibility and accessibility if they are trying to spread a message? Especially if they are trying to spread the message to people who still use Amazon as opposed to the people who don't.

oh no, the publisher putting it on Amazon is fine, but a consumer actually buying it through amazon would be absurd

I mean, they havent read the book yet they dont know why :P

I feel like this is exactly the right place for the writer to sell in order to cast the widest net, ironically. I recently heard that at least 60% of Americans have an Amazon Prime subscription.
