United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
Well shit. What good is pasta without parmesan? And no feta? Gouda? How is life worth living without good cheese?
Oddly it looks like the article is only referring to people coming back from holiday, bringing a bit of meat or cheese with them. It doesn't seem to cover the cargo ships full of the stuff.
Obviously this makes sense, as whenever I go on holiday and bring back some delicious foreign cheese or meat, the first thing I always do is go down to my local farm and share it out with all the animals :)
Can foot and mouth pass through the meat and cheese? I thought food products remained safe during F&M outbreaks...
Many years ago, I forget how many, a case of foot and mouth disease was traced to a salami sandwich discarded by a walker. The outbreak was confined to one farm with the only possible source being a transfer from someone on the footpath.
Foot in mouth*
Oh fuck. Well, always the local morgue to raid 👍
