Ocasio-Cortez took to Instagram after the Department of Homeland Security suggested they may pursue arrests of three Democratic lawmakers who partook in a protest outside of an ICE facility in Newark, New Jersey. Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Rob Menendez (D-NJ) and LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) all attended the protest.

Mmkay. Keep drawing lines and saying "I'm warning you!". Fuckin do something now. Quit yelling at them to stop, and make them stop. If this is all that can be done we are turbofucked.

In fairness, this is her doing something. She can't impeach and remove trump by herself. She has to win over republicans. If she can get to some who will realize that if trump will arrest dems he doesn't like, he will do the same to republicans, then she can win. It's the same tactic poloticians have been using, polarize the voters. Just in this case the voters are congress. Side note, you can shorten democrats to dems. But if you shorten republicans to reps you could still be talking about dems, because they are all representatives. How annoying.

No no, AOC isn't doing enough.

She needs to go all Schumer on them and write a strongly worded letter that no one, possibly even the recipient, sees. That will do it.

Americans in a literal fascist state be like: This is literally fascism

they’re trapped in a Cassandra‑like tautology: forewarning what has already come to pass

[–] [email protected] 20 points 19 hours ago

You can discuss all you want, they can be members of Congress or what ever but unfortunately we don't have a Congress and we are already in a dictatorship, even if you brand it as fascism. I saw the video posted by Hasan Piker. If you listen carefully the question he was asked to answer by customs agents it shows we're in a dictatorship.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Voted for Take it Down. Now concerned about bad stuff.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

you realize everyone who voted on that voted for it except two republicans

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Well aware. And the two just didn't vote.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What? You don't have a problem already? Stop drawing lines. They've already crossed enough of them.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Look for a video Hasan Piker posted on IG. He explains that customs agents ask him if he had ever said anything wrong against Trump. That's a sign we're already in a dictatorship. You can call it fascism but it's a dictatorship where you can't say anything wrong against the supreme leader or you get punished for it. CBP agents asking if someone has ever said anything against Trump is a sign of dictatorship.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago

Absolutely. I feel like it reminds me of some dystopian show, asking people on their visit if they've engaged in anti-XYZ person activities etc. Hasan is a scumbag for his worship of russia, but he is right this time. This is a dictatorship, and it's spreading fast.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 day ago

After watching that video, there already is a problem. Assaulting an elected official is a felony and the ICE officer that did this needs to be up on charges.

[–] Randomgal 1 points 14 hours ago

What are they gonna do? Lawsuit? Lmao that snot know kingdoms work

[–] Lushed_Lungfish 76 points 1 day ago

Ma'am, with the greatest and utmost possible respect, the rest of the world submits that you people already have several problems.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The Democrats have shown that they intend to continue to lose and will not take meaningful action to protect the public, it’s pathetic

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago

so. What do you want them to do? say it out loud. Go ahead.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There are going to be so many furrowed brows.

I hope they don’t need to write another Strongly Worded Letter!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I’m honestly more mad at the Dems at this point for just continuing to do nothing while the right runs roughshod over the law and the people.

[–] [email protected] 60 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you come for my constituents, stop no...

If you come for our mayors, that's unfortunate.

Threaten our governors? So sad, horrible, can nothing be done?

Come for me? We're going to have a problem.

None fo the Dems are going to do shit until they come for them directly, a year after it's too late to do shit.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 1 day ago (2 children)

dude we should all be rioting at this point. shit is so fucked.

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The oligarchs have the population exactly where they want them to be: poor, unhealthy, divided and unable to mount a concrete unified resistance.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 day ago (21 children)

the whole US population has been indoctrinated to believe non-violent action is effective and the only thing thats acceptable. fucking strange for a country that is so hardcore 2a.

[–] [email protected] 334 points 2 days ago (12 children)

You should already have a problem.

[–] [email protected] 160 points 2 days ago (19 children)

How many red lines have been crossed now? I like AOC but the Democrats and Congress aren't going to do shit if they haven't already.

If the bar has to be that high given everything they have already done, then perhaps you are living in an oligarchy.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If the trump admin goes after congress members, they're going after the Squad first so most democrats will be on board.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Democrats are the Leopards Eating Faces Party, Republicans are Let Leopards Run Free Without Regulation Party.

Every time they give Republicans an inch, they'll take a mile. And then publicly cry "Giving them a mile was a mistake, we wanna walk back a foot!"

If AOC is targeted, wanna bet enough Democrats vote yes to remove/arrest her in appeasement of Trump, thinking they'll be saved?

[–] Auli 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

And they never undue what was done just keep the status quo. So the US marches ever towards the right.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 hours ago

Never have, never will. I've become disillusioned with the platitudes that the DNC sells the public. If they want to win, give them something that makes them not consider fascist lies of how they'll make everything better.

But instead its means tested, racist, classist solutions that only major revisions to laws and the way a government operates could fix. And no politician wants that.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago (6 children)

Oh a big problem!? Like what exactly? What are going to do against a group of people who laugh at the supreme court and dont follow court orders? All they can do is send a strongly worded letter and say "Shame shame". We are already a dictatorship these other branches have no power other than for optics.
