Any idea how it knows which sites to look through? It'd be cool to have it prefer your own home instance in results.

Noice! I am able to find this very thread through searxng, which seems to behave like an actual search engine with its own search results page, but I couldn't find it through fedi-search, which seems to be little more than an auto redirect tool.

SearXNG is a self hosted search. Basically you go to your SearXNG instance, put in your search and it pulls from all kinds of different search engines to give your results.

Hahaha look at your comment history. Dont believe this troll clown. Not one comment with actual content, just rants and negativity.
Block them. I can't do anything about the bullies, I won't bully anyone and if it comes off as bullying, maybe there's a misunderstanding from me.
We can only build our communities how we want them and ignore the rest. Bullying is going to happen sadly, but we have the opportunity to push that shit away and build a welcoming and wholesome community.
We'll disagree sometimes, but we need to do our best to be as respectful as possible.

Without knowing the context... make sure you report people who truly are bullying. Some instances may not do anything, but a lot do care and don't tolerate bullying and harassment.

Here's a thought, maybe not harass someone? Try to be kind and compassionate? You have 3 people on your instance, so I imagine that's just you or a friend's. Kalvin could of and looking at the comments here alone, should have, reported you to Lemmy.world and they could ban your entire instance. So why not just try to actually get along with folks?

I'm looking and I'm not seeing a troll. I'm seeing someone that's looking for help and seems to not really understand a lot of what's around them buddy. And yes, I'll defend people.
Why are you spending so much time responding aggressively to people.
And yes, I kind of assumed it was your instance.
If the person is a troll, then ignore them. Why do you feel you have to attack them? You're not defending anyone by putting someone else down. Just because you don't understand them, doesn't make them a troll.
Watch him get banned from every community he participates in then. I'll keep playing with trolls.

Kalvin I recommend you just block people and if their instance harasses you you can report them. While they might own their instance your instance, Lemmy.world might ban their entire instance and then they're totally gone.
