I don’t think anybody referred to it as Max anyway. Such a generic lame name.

Example of products that could be named Max:

  • power tools
  • protein supplements
  • engine oil
  • gas chambers

How long until it goes back to just being HBO?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago
[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

it will be HBO MAX +, or hbo max pro+ next.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

“HBO Go Max Now +” as it’s final shriek into the void before finally just returning to “HBO” 🤣

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

I didn't know they renamed it

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

I was wondering why the HBO Dwight Schrute meme was making the rounds again. I swear this is the corporate equivalent of changing your pronouns every month.

What a ride

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What bad PR did they do to cause a need for another stupid name change? Lol Max didn't have that HBO in it so people stopped thinking it was premium? I coulda fucking told you that.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I hate that their SEOs are good enough to get away with plain old max as a search term. It makes me irrationally angry when big corpos make these stupid decisions and get away with it, but only regret it when it immediately hurts their bottom line.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No way it's good SEO, it's 100% the search engines hard coding responses into their systems or something like that

The instantaneous speed and level of raw aggression some search terms have scream of meddling

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Not meddling. Paid promotion. Google sells advantage. Has for years and years.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

I'll never remember this new one

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

I'm all for letting people self-identify, but cmon and make up your mind already

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

To be fair, the name "X" was already taken and Max Diddy doesn't roll off the tongue.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

HBO go max or go home now.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

This is bullshit.

I demand HBO Maxine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Somehow HBO Max returned

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

somehow

I mean, it's pretty straightforward...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

HBO Maxxi would be so much better.
