I did this with /r/roms on reddit. Created an /r/roms community here on lemmy just today. Hopefully we actually get some people from /r/roms coming through. I also made a post on /r/roms mentioning it.
It's really difficult to make people switch social media until and unless they're bound to do so, Best of luck anyways
