Planted these in Winter 2020, finally seeing some buds.

That's awesome! We had an Elderberry sprout in the backyard after a hurricane knocked down enough trees to increase the sunlight in that area.

Last year it finally fruited and we were so excited; the birds ate them all before we even had a taste. This year I bought a bird net cover ๐Ÿ˜Ž

It depends on how much we save from the birds and our extended family. If there is any left we will sell jam from them at our farmers market booth.

I've actually never worked with elderberries myself before, but I do like elderberry syrup. Jam sounds tasty too!

I like to make syrup and liqueur with dried elderflower, and I've wondered about planting some of my own to get fresh flowers and fruit.
