This is absolutely tragic! Why is the death toll so high? There wasn’t much to be gleaned from the article.

It sounds like a truck basically crushed a car like an empty can, so all the occupants died, and I would assume if it hit that hard, there's going to be other cars smashed in the process.

It's pretty grim.

Echoes of the Humboldt tragedy. Highway accident between a bus and a semi truck. Absolutely tragic

A truck hitting another truck (or bus) is nearly always a driver sleeping at the wheel. Such a tragedy, regardless.
