He is black and it's the NFL so highly unlikely
Let’s not forget that they still need to have a fair interview process for all candidates involved. Yes he’s done well but there’s a process for a reason.
Can our players beat the dolphins or chiefs?
I hope we’ve learned from moving on from Bisaccia and stick to what’s working, if it works but I’m an optimist
Yes
I don't think they can actually make that announcement until after the regular season. There are a bunch of NFL rules about hiring.
Yes
Has the “interim” titled ever been dropped before the season ended?
I want to see him take a bad L and how the team plays down 3 scores. That's the shit that seperates good and bad coaches.
No. Proper interview process has to happen.
I'd be down for it. Provided that PG stays on as DC for at least another year. He seems to be doing good things.
AP could have the job going forward as soon as the bye week if the raiders keep winning
Keep AP and Champ. At least give them another year after this one just to see what they can do. I know it is said every single damn year but we might be a few pieces away from being really good. We have legitimate stars on this team now compared to years past.
IMO, beating one of AFCW opponents is good, but not a solid measure of AP’s effectiveness, even the Chiefs, because we always seem to play the Chiefs tough. It’s the unfamiliar opponents, like the Dolphins, that will impress me. I still think, no matter what AP does, unless he makes a good playoff run, that Mark will at least attempt to do this the right way. The funny thing is, if AOC ends being a serviceable starter, the former regime may have had a pretty good draft this year.
No. He has to beat both. Then it’s interim title off.
Yes
No. There will be interviews in the off season. Hope he gets it though.
Doesnt really matter. Who cares. What if we beat the dolphins and chiefs then lose the rest of the games, does he get the interim title put back on? Enjoy each week and see how the season goes.
Realistically yes,
technically no. They have to do the process after the year ends. Even if harbaugh wanted to come in, I highly doubt that mark would make the same mistake twice especially if we make the playoffs.
Just be competitive the rest of the year and he should keep the job. I don't expect us to beat either of those teams, but if we play a good game, I'll be ok with that
and then loses the rest? relax with this talk until the end of season.
Even if he loses they need to retain him, we really need consistency in these key positions
AP keeps the job if we make the playoffs, he is still a guy with little true experience
playoffs
Bro, all the teams we've beaten are ass. I would be very (pleasantly) surprised if we manage to win five of the last seven.
That would make playoffs a real possibility. I think if we win 1 we are supposed to lose and win all the games we should he will get the job offer.
I just hope we make the playoffs.
If we make the playoffs and don't make him HC, I will be disappointed.
If we don't make the playoffs, then I'm not sure how I'll feel about him as HC.
Even if we lose and it’s close, he’s the guy.
I have no fear. He listens to his players.
All of us that were happy with the JMD hire, don’t get a say! You all work this out!
That decision gets made at the end of the season. I like what I see so far, but there is still a lot of football left to play.
If he beats Miami & KC he just may be the real deal. I wouldn’t mind giving him a chance to coach a full season as well as the intern GM. I do think they have the Raider spirit and have the want to turn this team around for the best!
No, Coach AP wouldn't probably entertain the talk until the year is over.
Feels like a lot of people are already sold. I like AP but gotta let the season play out. Even if we beat the phins or chiefs, and then we somehow lost out, that’s not enough to get him the job. They’ve gotta play well the whole season, but I’m really rooting for this guy
IMO he will get consideration only if we manage 8 wins on the season (5-4 record with AP). 9 wins gives him a great case. 10 wins basically guarantees the job
No. 3 games is too soon to pull the trigger, but if he gets this team to the playoffs, then hard yes.
I think he will definitely interview for it in the offseason but we will see. If this team ends up with a winning record, he has a really good shot at getting the job.
Let’s see what happens but most likely yes! Two wins against the NY teams at home are a great start but this Sundays game will be tough.
No but it's a start
I’d say just let things play out. Let that contract work out too for him. I’d imagine if we finish out the season in a bright way that we stick with this staff.z
He can’t “become coach” until after the season and they do all their interview requirements
Knowing Davis, AP can win out and still not be hired.
it won't happen until the season is over.
No, probably not. See how he does the whole season. Biscotti made the playoffs and didn't even lose interim tag.
Very likely. Unless we somehow lose out after
I dont think there's any single event that you can say "wins" the job for AP. Its going to be a holistic look back after the season, not only at wins and losses but how the team is playing, the trajectory we were in by the end, how the players feel, etc.
We could sneak away with lucky wins vs MIA and KC and he could lose the job. We could have plucky, hard-fought losses in MIA and KC and he keeps the job.
If he can get the team to travel to the east coast and have them not forget how to play football I’ll be happy lol no coach has been able to get us to travel to east coast and play well
If he is able to keep them competitive with those teams, I'm fine with giving him a shot.
Bisaccia got blown out by the Chiefs so that's why I wasn't convinced he was the guy long term.
The line opened -9.5 Dolphins. And I instantly took it alterante spread -13.5 for +390 for the Dolphins. The current line is -12.5 on fanduel. This team has played complete dog shit teams. And barely won against those dog shit teams. If he beats the Dolphins or Chiefs than that is incomprehensible. But like guys...he beat Tommy DeVito and Zach Wilson. You all are going to be humbled soon. And I PRAY. I pray to GOD I'm wrong.
If he:
-
Beats both, he earns the full title going coming out of the bye week
-
Beats one or the other, earns full title after the season, barring collapse in the final 5 weeks
-
Loses to both, but they're highly competitive losses, strong consideration barring collapse
-
Loses to both and they're embarrassed, still consider for the job, but nothing short of a playoff run would absolutely save him a place.
