Honestly I think it's just the stache. If he didn't have that goofy lip caterpillar I think people would just treat him like any other youthful rookie

Its kinda hate inasmuch as its unfair to judge him in toto right now when he's still developing, with only a couple actual starts on his resume. Saying the mistakes he's making now define who he's going to be forever is simply not true.
If by the end of the season he's still making the same mistakes and not showing any growth, then you can start to make those criticisms. But almost no one is going to immediately jump in and be an NFL QB1 right out of the box, in the scenario he was in
People are just frustrated
Realistically, its not even a question. We're not going back to Garoppolo this season, unless AOC gets injured. We're not pulling a Browns and signing a Joe Flacco in desperation either. AOC will get to the end of the season to audition for the starting role next year. So he'll either show steady growth, or he wont, and we dont have any decisions to make one way or the other till next spring
This game felt like the second season of the Gruden rebuild, when we kept looking competitive but just couldn't pull out the close wins
The first half of this year it looked like we regressed all the way back to 2005 or so...so the fact that we've recovered and only lost that much progress is a good thing
You can tell AOC is still a rookie. Those deep shots seem like they were decided before the snap, and he was going to take them because it was "time to" and "he should", rather than reading the play and seeing a decent chance.
Throwing it up for grabs and trusting Davante to get it is a fine strategy, but this wasnt the last play of the game, and there were options open shallower that would've kept the drive going and set up more shots for the end zone.
Hopefully going over this game tape will help AOC develop some better instincts for similar situations in the future. I think he's made a lot of good adjustments and learned from his mistakes so far, especially with his pocket presence.
The overthrows are just inexcusable though. He's gotta get on the same page with Adams about those kind of routes
Renfrow is our Hill once he gets the ball in stride
He gonna kill that rapefish and he's not even gonna use his fighting hand :D
Dolphins probably the hardest of the 3 for #1, so a win on Sunday will put us in a good spot there
Its #2 that's probably going to be the bottleneck on this
#4 you can ink in right now lol
I dont think there's any single event that you can say "wins" the job for AP. Its going to be a holistic look back after the season, not only at wins and losses but how the team is playing, the trajectory we were in by the end, how the players feel, etc.
We could sneak away with lucky wins vs MIA and KC and he could lose the job. We could have plucky, hard-fought losses in MIA and KC and he keeps the job.
Update: yeah now reports are confirming, he was in the SUV
Lol yeah wtf run that blue up the coast to Houston for me
