Sure, but online, in person, a work gathering, the park, a web forum, or etc.

Just seems like an intense response. That tells me that it's in a context where people are normally anonymous or maybe it's a public internet setting (e.g. like here)... or... they might have some serious distrust issues... 😬

It's important to be aware of what happens and to act when and how you feel led.

However, caring for your mental health is most important. Even on this platform I have a filter on for a single word -- Trump. For how long, I don't know. I still get US news, but I just needed to decrease it for a time in relation to that man.

Seems like context would be helpful. I'm not sure I've personally been responded to this way when trying to get to know someone. But I imagine in certain situations, it might be more likely. Maybe online vs in person?

The response does seem say something though. Uncertainty. Distrust. Maybe more.

I appreciate you sharing. It's a huge weight to have to carry throughout the years. I imagine childhood was rough which breaks my heart. People can be cruel and that leaves scars. I really hope you have some people in your life who see you for you without treating you the way so many have in the past. People you feel safe and comfortable around.
