AFAB here and I agree 100% - the issue is that by elevating that which used to acceptably be oppressed, the primary oppressor feels that they have lost station and position as they see society as a ladder - if you aren't at the top someone else is above you. That kind of thinking makes this even more difficult to solve.

Luckily I can drive to a Metro, Sobeys, Giant Tiger - Sobeys is arguably as evil (Empire - own Sobeys, Farm Boy, Foodland, IGA etc) but they in my mind are slightly less evil - Metro a bit less, Giant Tiger despite their owner's politics even less - and then those lucky enough to live near a co-op or a good selection of independent stores - ideal.
