Great news and much needed. Chinas emissions falling could very well mean global emissions start to fall. It also obviously weakens the fossil fuel industry in the rest of the world.

Year on year Chinas emissions went up by 0.8%. That is why. Btw the US emissions fell by 0.2%. However with Trump that is not going to last.

Please read up on what the EU actually is. That statement is about as smart as calling China a US state, because US companies invested a lot in China.

Europe has send twice as much aid to Ukraine as the US. There has also been a pretty large built up of military capacity in the EU, allowing enough weapons to flow to Ukraine for the coming years. The only thing Europeans need to do to stop Putin from marching into Kyiv is to keep sending aid.

Honestly not just third world countries. The UK has been warmimg up to China, with Trump being elected and Brexit being a problem. It is not like Trump is not trying to kill deals with other developed countries as well.

LNG is expensive. If Russia is selling gas to the EU again, it would have a decent time pushing out US LNG sales. A lot of gas is used outside of power generation, so consumption is not going to drop overnight.

Green tech is a wide field. In wind turbines the two largest companies in the world are from the EU. High speed rail also has a lot of European companies with great technologies, as well as Japan. In the battery world Japan and South Korea have some large companies as well.

Solar is one of the areas, where China just rules though.

Yes the industry is massive, but there are also a lot of other countries in the world. Europe for example is trying to retool its car industry for EVs. Danish Vestas is the largest wind turbine manufacturer in the world and German-Spanish SiemensGamesa is the second largest. Japan and South Korea are strong in the battery manufacturing industry.

That is not to say that this is not scary to see Trump hurt the US economy this badly, but it is what the Americans have voted for.

It is not going to be the OPEC of the 21st century. The important part with oil, is that you need to buy more of it ones it is burned. With most green technologies, the products last decades. So any country being cut off can just work on developing their own. Obviously there are more countries then China and the US as well, which also have green technology companies.

Von der Leyen Comission got a sales ban of fossil fuel cars, a carbon market without offsets for heating and transport, lowered emission permits on the existing carbon market(again no offsets), carbon tariffs on some products, the nature restoration law and a bunch of other positive laws. So in terms of empty promises von der Leyen is actually doing pretty well.

That is fire extinguishing foam, not snow. Right now it is just below freezing in Liski
