If its good enough, the news of it will get to me eventually and I will see for myself.
This is how I live now.
This is what it means to be old.
I'm 34.

Good old Maslow. This is correct. The first two require money. As a single person without children, I've generally got the first two covered. I can not cover the third and I also feel like any amount of money will not help me either. This is why people with money say you cant buy happiness... because it is presumably at the top of this pyramid when you achieve it all.
World of Tanks huh? And Hearts of Iron, I see... In my observation - 30% they a nazi, 50% a commie and 20% just casually enjoy these games. And by nazi and commie, I mean what that word meant in 1940.
Very nice to see. Might start playing again to 100% it (yet again) now that there's an actual useful wiki for it. Always love to see pure media wiki usage. I wish we could just scrub Fandom's one now.
I wonder how valuable that data even is, or to who. I figure the data consists of accumulated cleaning time, location, surface area which could be used to extrapolate some socio economic stats and offer insight how to best market these devices. And also technical data about the devices. Both of which I'd wager are probably useful to companies in the same business.
We'll see who buys them in a year :D
Regarding the lack of romance mechanics, it just seems like they dont know how do romance then? Why would a character have to suddenly become a "yes man" once romanced? In any case, does the game really need such mechanics to begin with?
I havent played it but from what I've seen, it looks like an action RPG - action first with some rpg mechanics. This is a safe genre to invest in, especially to offer on a subscription service because it is casual friendly. The drawback being it polarizes the more hardcore crowd and leaves them wanting more.
The game looks fun, but I personally can not get into a world that switches between fantasy and sci-fi so much. The mix just isn't my thing. Magic and tech don't mix well in my head.
Yes it does. It says so right there. Just no launcher.
Doesn't help that I don't know what this "AI" is supposed to be doing on my phone.
Touch up a few photos on my phone? Ok go ahead, ill turn it off when I want a pure photography experience (or use a DSLR).
Text prediction? Yeah why not.. I mean, is it the little things like that?
So it feels like either these companies dont know how to use "AI" or they dont know how to market it... or more likely they know one way to market it and the marketing department is driving the development. Im sure theres good uses but it seems like they dont want to put in the work and just give us useless ones.
This is the guy who has an awesome medieval history channel on YouTube. Seems like a really down to earth bloke.
Note how I didnt even mention capitalism here, attacked or defended any system but tried to understand the "virus" argument in the most basic form. I've looked at humankind from the biological aspect far far removed from any social or economic constructs such as capitalism.
At its core, I don't believe humans can live with zero impact on their environment and that we all have self preservation built in, just like any animal. I did not draw a conclusion that capitalism is therefore inevitable - or that our nature is solely responsible.
Capitalism arises from social and economic conditions, it is a historic phase - one which we came to due to wealth accumulation, commodification of land and labor and technological advancement (industrialization). According to Marx, it was inevitable.
Will the "virus" argument go away in a post capitalist society? I don't know, you tell me. The biological traits I mentioned will still be there. The social and economic conditions won't. Will we still be killing each other and impacting the environment?
And it's a valid point. Services like audible and Netflix offer something that can not be matched by traditional storage, that's why they are profitable to begin with. Streaming content instead of downloading it to each device is a good selling point, one which is covered by self hosting this stuff.
