I'm not condoning violence but I'm kind of surprised no one have yet taken an RPG shot at elons jet or something. Even blowing it up empty would send a message I guess.

I mean someone actually shot at drump so it can't be that complicated.

Fair point.

I also think they should have to scrap the pound, to really integrate with the EU and to minimise the risk of another brexit. But you are right, baby steps!

That must have been soo frightening! :-)

In some countries a specific number triggers a vote, I don't think that exists in the UK though?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

That can be negotiated around.

Possible but then they are making a really bad job doing it.

Godot is running fine on Linux (Mint, with c#)

Just FYI.

Hey thank you! I'm definitely saving this off for my future calculations!

You're totally correct about the rest, and I'm now able to roughly see if I should buy a 800 system or two, or theee... Electric hookups included in the calculation of course.

Smart planning! Thanks for the story, are you planning to go off grid or is it just to be economically free? Any batteries in the future? Excellent reference, and implementation, I'm giving you an 11 out of ten!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah I get all that, but what if I need heating in the winter and have very low consumption in the summer? That is why I'm searching for real world numbers. If you give me some for a specific place then I can at least have a ballpark number if what I might get where I live.

OTOH as you say, they start to be so cheap it's almost impossible to go wrong...

Hi everyone, I'm Valmond and I'm working on a decentralised sharing network based on reciprocity.

It's working but I haven't found a place where to showcase it/find followers/interested people. Would a decentralised, secure, FOSS, sharing system ; you share what ever you want with whom you want by sharing back, well would that kind of idea have a place here?

Cheers

Valmond

Literally the headline. Not illegal at all is best of course.

I'd like to have a sort of reverse Warrant Canary of sorts, that will pop if security is breached

Hello everyone and happy holidays!

I'm interested in photovoltaic panels, it's the future and all!

But with the subsidiaries and the general enshittification of search engines, all search results about photovoltaics leads to sites with wildly misleading information, IMO.

I don't care about a 3kWc system with installation. What even is a kWc (I know what it is) and why is nobody explaining how much power the panels would typically yield instead? Per month? During the day?

I guess it is less selling if your installation is generating near nothing in December when you need it the most?

Okay sorry, rant off. My question is, where can I find reliable information about how much panels generate every month, during the day?

I know places have more or less sun, but that's quite easy to figure out if you have the numbers for any place.

🌞

Edit: I don't need a web calculator for how many panels I need. I'd like to know roughly how many watt a typical panel produces a specific day (or better hour) in the year.

Edit2: I am not looking for how to install or calculate a typical solar panel setup. I'm looking for the typical real world output of solar panels around the day and year.

Edit3: got my information, thanks [email protected] ! You all can now continue explaining how many panels a home needs or what a kwh is, Merry Christmas to you all!

Using old filaments (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hello,

I put my homemade 3D printer in the garage when I moved 2 years ago, the filaments I had were maybe 2 years old and worked well.

I bulk bought them on aliexpress or maybe alibaba.

Now, the printer needs a refreshing, a bit of all kind of electrical & mechanical stuff and also figuring out how to run it from my new computer, and I wonder if I should buy some new filament so that I won't have to care about any old filament problems or what do you think? Is my filament dead or maybe ok?

Thanks!

Edit: thank you all!

I'll go with buy a new high quality one to get everything up and running, and then I'll check out the quality of the old spools. Who are stored open, but in a airtight box with a kilo of, now grey, alibaba deciccant pellets.

It's nice to have posts, but today there are too many to check out, and tomorrow they will sadly be forgotten.

Would it be possible to post more like one a day, that way the community will have time to interact with the pist, and eventually the game!

Cheers & keep the good work up!

I think I can say that the ruble is in free fall

Hello all!

My phone started to be low on "disk" space, and Connects cache eats up 23.5GB so I checked but couldn't find any way how to clear it.

So can you, without like uninstall+ reinstall ?

Edit: thank you rubber-🦆

F-Droid -> DiskUsage -> helps you open the correct config page to clear caches, super easy peasy.

Hello, I'm Valmond creator of the Tenfingers sharing protocol & implementation.

To make it more motivating for people to try it out, what should I share to showcase its abilities? It can be rougly anything up to say a gigabyte.

I'm thinking about music, video, parts of wikipedia, ...

Legal of course.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers & thanks!
