If you’re in Philly, there may be something in the Chinatown area, or maybe someone there can give you options so your mom can enjoy a movie out with you. I hope you find a solution.

That said, you should go see Project Hail Mary, it’s fantastic. Maybe take a friend if you don’t want to go alone, but I’ve gone to movies by myself plenty of times and I would have gone alone to this one if I hadn’t dragged my partner to opening weekend.

And make sure you don’t just sit there. Get up and walk around because it gets the blood flowing and THC where it needs to go. Doesn’t have to be outside, just stand up and move a bit.

I changed all of my default search engines to https://noai.duckduckgo.com/ and internet searches have been much better

If you want something fast paced, recent, and ok with scifi, I suggest Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. It’s a quick and fun read, I highly enjoyed it. The movie just came out, so you can watch that then compare the two. So far, folks have said it’s a good adaptation, I am seeing it tomorrow.

That would take a fair bit of time out of your boredom.

I get where you are coming from, but I have too many good childhood memories of watching both shows with my family. I refuse to let some chodes ruin it for me. X-Files was the weekly thing to sit down and all watch together.

Don’t let the dumb dumbs ruin things things you enjoy 💚

Audra

I first read that name in a book when I was a teen and I’ve loved it ever since. My Warcraft rogue Audacity was even partially named using it.

Both are absolutely worth it!

Going through a Star Trek Voyager rewatch from the beginning. I’ve done this with TNG and DS9 a couple of times and constantly rewatch those episodes. I’ve only gone through Voyager once and I don’t rewatch it much, so it’s kind of newish to me again.

Other than that, reading my Star Trek novels from the thrift store and borrowing Blu-rays from the library to rip into my collection. I really want to do a watch of X-Files again!

As someone else mentioned, it’s the lack of fiber in so many US folks diets. When we finally get more fiber than they are used to, they tend to poo a lot. The food itself is fine for fast food.

I used to eat at Taco Bell on a near daily basis because it was my favorite fast food, cheap, and in the mall I worked in. I have never once had bowel discomfort from the food there. Even now, I ate it a few weeks ago, no problems at all.

I hope these count because they are plants in my house. I grow small amounts of lettuce and herbs to spoil my bunnies with.

After only 2 days, I’m already getting some lettuce sprouts in my second garden. 🥰

My 2025 books (media.piefed.social)

I don’t know a lot of folks who read as often as I do, so I wanted to share my 2025 reads with y’all. I read a mix of novels and graphic novels. Some highlights were:

  • The Consortium Rebellion trilogy by Jessie Mihalik. Great mix of science fiction and romance.
  • 2 of the Jules and Bun trilogy. This is a super cute murder mystery about a woman and her crime solving telepathic rabbit, I love it!!
  • Run by Blake Crouch. One of my favorite authors
  • When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi. Another favorite author of mine
