Oh this is awesome, I appreciate your sharing!! I'll definitely be giving these a watch for ideas.

I start off that way sometimes, but I'm usually not disciplined enough to stick through it. I think next time I do pick up the game, I'll challenge myself to develop a character sheet and actually follow through.

Wonderful ideas! I'll try some of them out. And I do have Oblivion but had forgotten about it — I'm glad for the reminder.

Fair! I've been playing a variety of other games in various genres as well and enjoying them too. :) Sometimes I still get the Skyrim itch though.

Really good ideas, thanks! I do think archery is probably diminishing my experience of the game at this point. Maybe I'll try a 2H or dual wielding playthrough soon... I did try 2H once and only got like 5 levels in because I didn't like it, but I was also just coming off a level 60-something sneak archer (surprise!), haha.

For real. I genuinely can't believe how bad the monopolies/oligopolies are in Canada. Soon we'll have RoBelUs opening up a "competitor" grocery chain, and maybe a Loblaws telecom. Then we can really feel the burn.

How and why does a company "agree" to a fine? Were they given the option of rejecting it? 🤔

Nah, I won't return in a meaningful way. Come June 30, I'm fully deleting my 10+ y.o. account. I may make another burner one to be able to follow a few niche communities (mostly snark subreddits) that I'm certain won't be moving over. But I don't plan to contribute or even lurk in a meaningful way anymore.

I'm excited about the promise the Fediverse holds. It's refreshing to me. I've been longing for a better social web experience, something like I remember having 10-15 years ago, and I'm feeling hopeful that the communities developing here can give me some of that magical feeling back.

exactly! sweet and salty plus CRUNCHY (the best texture). it's heavenly.

also: hard yes to baguette with brie, prosciutto, and jam. i also love using an apple slice as the base for those toppings.

chips + jam

specifically, kettle chips (plain salted or unsalted) with a nice strawberry or blackberry jam to dip them in...

where it really gets controversial is that I like to do this with the bonne maman jams 🙈

I enable Heroes and Legends because it's an easy way to get superpowered military units early in the game, haha. I agree that the AI doesn't do a great job with using the majority of the game modes. IMO, the AI in Civ 6 is lacking in general. I'm not sure if the other titles are better...

Barbarian Clans I like because it lets me stem the endless tide of barbarians trying to overtake my nascent cities in the Ancient Age. But by the end of the game, the map does get cluttered with city-states. I'm realizing now that this is probably why Diplomatic Victory seems so easy... you earn favour per city-state per turn, so it becomes easy to outpace the AI's favours and get whatever you want in the World Council. Hm!

This explains a lot. I'm new to Lemmy and was taking a look on the Google Play store for any apps. Ended up downloading Lemmur and couldn't find any communities or content. Now I know why! 😳

(Writing this from Jerboa for Lemmy, in case any lurkers out there are also looking for an app. It's working pretty well overall.)
