'To put on one of his plays, you don't pay his estate, you give a donation to a urangutan preservation society. '

I didn't know that, and now I love the man even more.

You could programmatically rearrange the meaning of sentences. Ie instead of "where is the library I need to get a book" you could do some sort of full word replacement cypher and end up with sentences like "Lets mambo down to the banana patch."

Just for fun. :-)

Yeah, you have to be perfect and not get knocked off, otherwise its back to square one. Super annoying. But it does feel like a real accomplishment when you finally beat him!

Moldorm - The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past (https://www.zeldadungeon.net/wiki/Moldorm_(A_Link_to_the_Past) )

This f'ing guy was hours of work to beat. Still the most annoying game boss ive ever encountered!

Mythos by Stephen Fry might be good. It's not strictly Medusa, but she is in it.

The audio book is amazing as well, cause you get to hear how those old Greek names should be pronounced, lol

You've probably heard loudmouth streamers (like myself) espousing that Standard is healthy and in a good place right now. But what does that mean? Those exact same streamers will load up the ladder and immediately complain about specific cards they see (yep, still me). Is the format being healthy not synonymous with the players enjoying themselves? Surely that doesn't make any sense.

So how can these two contradictions exist so passionately, sometimes even within one individual?

I got funds out of the blue like this once. Legit.

I could see a world where an AI teaches the mechanics of music, but is not relied on for evaluation of the students imagination in applying the mechanics.

When I was in art classes I wanted the class to teach me the techniques I did not know, but I was usually disappointed.

Like my life drawing classes would be me drawing images, and then getting judged on /what I already knew how to do/.

What I felt I would have benefited from was more along the lines of "here is three different shading techniques and how they can be used" or "here are three ways to use {oil | acrylic | water color} paints you've not used before."

I always had ideas of images to create, what I could have benefited from was intros to more tools and ways to use those tools.

I could see an AI being able to do that for students of the arts.

This is true. I was just thinking in the case of the study, but /any/ help when needed is better than no help.

"How does AI tutoring compare to human tutoring?" Thats the first question that came to my mind!

Robotics companies have found a new and creative way to get consumers to shell out for a new robot vacuum: equipping them with a robotic arm that can pick up after your lazy ass.

"Use the best tool for the job, that the person doing the job is best at." That's my approach.

I will use bash or python dart or whatever the project uses.

Shapeshifter, magic, immortal. Boom.

A surprise clue has Magic: The Gathering fans convinced that the last set of the year will be Avatar: The Last Airbender - could it be true?

It's raining gaming handhelds lately. Acer have now announced the New Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11. Don't expect SteamOS / Linux on them though, sadly they're shipping with Windows 11. Never say never though, with Valve expanding SteamOS perhaps we may see Acer jump on board in future too.

A tokens deck in Magic: The Gathering is one of the renowned deck strategies that revolve around creating a large number of creature tokens to overwhelm opponents through sheer numbers. I remembered it as one of my iconic decks in the past during my competitive prime as a Magic: the Gathering player.

2024 was a huge year for MTG. It was a lot of things. Controversial, exciting, frustrating, promising, and refreshed. We saw some formats get ruined, then fixed, then ruined again. We saw some great changes to Standard that not everyone was fans of at first, but they seemed to quickly warm up to them. We saw Wizards effectively abandon a format in favor of propelling Standard into a more prominent position. We saw some great cards printed for Standard, and some promising things to come in the next year that were announced. Along with that, a fair amount of people were still bothered by the new trajectory of the format. Some are calling into question the longevity of MTG now with the heavy lean into Universes Beyond. A little bit of everything happened this year in the MTG world, and it was interesting if nothing else. On a personal level, it was also a hell of a year for me, as I took down two different events and grew a lot as a player. We are going to look at The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly from this year!

Learn what you need to know about Standard Rotation in 2025, including which sets will stay legal, and how rotation is changing.

YouTube vid that breaks it down.... Most likely it's nothing to worry about.

Something like edhrec , but that has Brawl/Standard Brawl as a format. Does such a thing exist?

Standard format is experiencing one of the most varied moments of recent years and there are always surprises. Today we are going to talk about a new entry in the format, namely Esper Aggro, which has managed to get 5 times in a row a score of 5-0 in the Standard League of MTGO.
