I use the 3M 1100 as disposable. They are made for construction works and reduce the db by quite a lot.

Remember Harris was the devil on Gaza. People should think twice before saying something....

People should be careful in what they believe and trust. Musk created a belief long ago.

You should open an history book or at least a good one.

Geography didn't do anything. Switzerland would collapse in a day and many there were not against Nazi.

Nazi didn't invade because they needed Switzerland to finance their regime. It was an economical decision.

Myth about WWII are legion like Austria being a victim (Austria was actually happy to be part of the Reich).

I don't like centralized services. I also never pretended the opposite.

This is for me and my usage. The caveat is that not everyone is in the tech. We can look at the disastrous communication of Mastodon. They focussed and lots of people promoting it focussed too on the “decentralized argument”. This backfired. It was not clear for the public. A good strategy would have been to market Mastodon as an alternative with an easy process to create an account on the general website. Tech people would have chosen another server and do their stuffs. People would learn progressively the decentralization part and move from server to server. This takes time. We have to put great strategies in places and be patient to bring the public to the fedi.

Don't worry too much, it's the same in France. A whole side of the politic is in denial.

This was my point too. You don't believe in this shit like that. But also, it's always a good reminder for everyone to be careful and that everyone can be concerned.

Remember that nobody is protected against conspiracy theories. This shit is going everywhere.

It's used for a more sustainable transport type. SBB, the railway company uses Helvetica half bold for the station signs.

Switzerland uses a variant of Frutiger typeface called ASTRA-Frutiger.

Switzerland likes to use for official purpose it's nationaly developed typefaces.

It may be interesting to note that ASTRA-Frutiger replaced SNV typeface. But, SNV is still in use in other European countries like Belgium. SNV stand for Swiss Norm Association.

The devs released Fennec 132.0.0 some days ago. If you didn't update, it's more than time. It's also good news for mull.

How do you eat this fruit called kiwi?

After more than 30 years using a small spoon, I changed. Now I'm eating the whole fruit including the skin.

With the version 130, Mozilla introduces a new navigation bar in Firefox for Android. If you don't like it, you can disable it in the "Secret Settings".

I was not a fan when it popped out on my screen. But, after sometime, it's pretty useful and saves a tap on the three dots button.

In a much-anticipated ruling, the European Court of Human Rights has decided that Swiss authorities are responsible for not implementing efficient climate change policies[...]

On Tuesday, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) upheld their appeal and condemned Switzerland for violating the right to respect for private and family life (Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights).

Today’s ruling is unprecedented. This is the first time that the ECHR has condemned a state for failing to take action against climate change, linking the protection of human rights to compliance with environmental obligations.

[...]

The new ruling should apply to the 46 States member of the European Council.

I wanted to say thank you for this great app to browse Lemmy. I appreciate all the work you're putting to keep the app alive with updates. I see a lot of bug reports and/or complain but not enough thanks and positive feedback.

Thank you!

New laptop (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Hi everyone!

I need to buy a new laptop to replace my 12 years old laptop. I didn't look after hardware for a while for some personal reasons.

I will buy something new. My needs are:

  • photo editing
  • video editing
  • vector graphics editing/creation
  • good battery life (I don't want to worry about)
  • web navigating, docs, spreadsheets
  • USB-C charging would be nice

I don't game, and Framework isn't available where I live.

I would be happy to have some recommendation on what is a good hardware for this use and good brand.

Thanks!
