The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) confirmed it has launched an investigation into the arrest that happened Jan. 31 in Mosakahiken Cree Nation.

A portion of that arrest was captured on video and has since been shared on social media. It shows an officer standing on a man’s chest. The man, whose hands appear to be restrained behind his back, is heard yelling about his heart.

In a release, RCMP said they are aware of the video but said it shows a “small portion” of the arrest, and confirmed the IIU had been notified.

We need more French blood, where people take to the streets until change happens

I mean France French, not Canadians. Canadians are docile compared to Europeans

Where do you believe people from Quebec got their "French blood" from, and what makes you believe that you aren't being an ignorant bigot right now?

Have you seen people from Quebec storming the Parliament? Have you watched France's protests. Big difference between cultures even though they are a lineage. Genetics is not the only thing that defines a people, adopted culture is.

Doubling down on bigotry I see. We are done here.

How is any of this bigotry? I think you are confused, and the downvotes support my conclusion. The French in France are known to rebel, there is a history. Canadian French might be passionate but they are still passive apathetic Canadians like the rest of us in Canada as a whole. Can not see how you find bigotry here. Absolutely ridiculous conclusion.

You are making broad generalizations about entire countries and continents. You have compared the entire population of Canada to the entire population of a continent with numerous countries and ideologies using those broad generalizations, as well as comparing the entire country to a single province with clear cultural differences. There is a history of violence in Quebec as well, which you need to ignore in order to make your prejudiced opinions work.

Hope that helps.

Not really, I never brought up Quebec , you did. If you do some research and history checking you will see the French beheaded their monarchs, and throughout modern history have risen up to combat their governments over reach (and that does not mean violently) in small and large matters. The French have a culture of standing up for themselves, and as Canadians we have not, we have let the government do things and we just say meh oh well. There is no bigotry here, it is historic fact.

If you were to reread from the beginning I was giving French citizens kudos for standing up for what is right. Canada needs more of that. How this turned to bigotry is some odd projection from you only, everyone else understood the context.

The lady doth protest to much, methinks.

[–] BCsven 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

:) protesting is good. Have a nice weekend.

Depends on the protest. Have a miserable weekend.
