It's because it goes against the conservative conspiracy theory of trans women simply being men in dresses infiltrating womens' public toilets and prisons as a means to harass them.
"And what's your explanation for the existence of FtM trans, then? What's their sinister ulterior motive?" is a question they don't have the answer to, so they straight up pretend FtM doesn't exist. They're conveniently ignored.
It's fundamentally harder to spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt over "women dressed as men" than it is to do it for the inverse.
When I went to my Wednesday protest, one troll tried to push ”two genders” and cited a story of a woman getting raped, claiming the assailant was transgender with no hormone changes.
I asked him to explain how his proposed changes to the law might prevent that incident; given that gender expression doesn’t create direct security on bathroom doors. He floundered for a bit, and soon left.
I mean, in their eyes that would be a woman rising to the superior caste of men for no good reason. We can't have that either!
Those people are usually also in denial about treating women worse.
If they don’t recognize FtM as men then they’re seeing them as women and they don’t respect women. They also understand that MtF can look good and believe that, despite seeing them fully as women “at the time of erection”, that they were “tricked into being gay” even if all they saw was a picture on the internet or a trans women on the street. And then they somehow still treat them as women and go out and attack them in ways they’d never do to a man, so clearly they’ve accepted it deep-down. It’s just a big fucking mess that they won’t put any effort into cleaning up.
They need therapy and emotional regulation and instead they have indoctrination, childhood trauma, and two rusty braincells struggling to make any connection with eachother.
