Why not sh.itjust.works?
Your instance doesnβt really matter that much but personally, I feel like the bigger instances will be the ones more prone to enshitification.
The admins over here are Canadian and have set up a non-profit to keep everything theyβre doing above board, so I like them. :)
Check out https://fedecan.ca/en/
Feddit.uk are also using a nice opencollective funding model, so it seems like these projects are nicely decentivised against a rogue admin selling the domain or selling the actual server
We also have one Admin in charge of the domains (me) and one in charge of the domains (GA), so we'd have to team up to go rogue. We also have processes to handover control if we get hit be a bus.
until you get hexbeared
Now you've jinxed it!
I do like the bus protocol, everyone should have one
We must protect the precious Feddit domains!
We can promote both! I just know Lemmy.ca more.
Why not lemmygrad, hexbear, or .ml?
because of the tankies lol. don't pretend you don't know about the reputation those instances have.
Yeaaa, I made my account on .ml a while ago. Looking forward to when migrating accounts is supported to move home to .ca
Tanky?
"communists" that are mainly concerned with defending everything that the modern Russian and Chinese governments do and shitting on everything America does. i can vibe with the America bashing, especially right now, but China and Russia also generally suck in many of the ways that America is currently getting worse in.
Nothing to add other than "yup", though with the caveat that if you block some users and their pro-Russia/China posts, its quite a peaceful place
Those aren't Canadian to start....
it's hard to tell a Canadian from a non-Canadian on the internet. It's not like there's a Captcha test for it. Can you imagine
Captcha: What is Madame Soleil's first name?
Idk. So I guess it is working properly.
Cirque?
