Moderates have done a thousand times more good for America than progressives.
Last progressive president was who, maybe JFK, and he didn’t even finish a full term.
Moderates didn't stop trump.
Moderates didn't protect abortion.
Moderates didn't stop bibi from bombing the shit out of Palestine.
Moderates didn't secure the supreme court.
Moderates didn't make trump regret jan 6th.
Moderates didn't prevent what's happening to Ukraine right now.
Moderates didn't make net neutrality into law.
Moderates didn't legalize weed.
Moderates didn't think America could handle a primary.
Moderates didn't think primaries should be fair.
The first two and last one moderates definitely tried but no one but moderates wanted to vote for Clinton so the conservatives got a majority in the SCOTUS and Trump got voted in the first time.
As for stopping Israel, no one in the world including the progressives have done anything meaningful there.
I'm just saying if moderates are the solution, and we've been leaning on moderates since 2016, how is the framework of our government falling apart?
Last election people knew they had a choice between Donald Trump and status quo and eighty million people decided they didn’t give a fuck what happened.
I’d say that is a pretty good reason why the government is falling apart.
So we agree that voters do not want status quo? Because that's what moderates were offering.
No they wanted what Trump was offering.
So what lesson are we going to learn from this in 2028? Continue running status quo moderates that no one actually wants?
Moderates were at the helm my dude. They marched out all their best friends. Dick Cheney. Liz Cheney. Mike Pence.
Biden is poster boy moderate. He even brought us famous legislation like:
Student loan debt being unforgiveable
War on drug shit to save us from the "super criminals"
I'm not saying moderates aren't an important part of the GOP. Honestly they are sometime easier to be around. I just think they will appear pompous against a trump who is brilliantly an asshole and get creamed.
Biden was right, Obama was right. Socially left and economically right was used as a smokescreen.
Biden got one of the most progressive budget bills ever over the finish line. $800 billion dollars toward greening our infrastructure. You can’t blame him for not getting the green new deal passed, the mfer tried, it’s not his fault that 2 dems in the Senate nerfed it. Tried on student loan debt too, multiple times. The president is not a king.
Yes, his stance on Israel sucked, but Jewish people deserve to exist too. You can’t celebrate inclusion and then “to the river to the sea” a whole subset of people. Well I mean, I guess you can if you’re a hypocrite.
Biden uconditionally funded Israel's genocide. Zionism is about Settler Colonialism and Ethnic Cleansing of native Palestinians, not Judaism nor is it representative of Jewish people. Anti-zionism is not anti-semitism. The conflation of the two is genuinely antisemitic.
Zionism is anti-Semitic at it's core, it other-izes Jewish people, and justifies the violent settler colonialim of Israel as in the defense of all Jewish people, which only serves to further fuel genuine Antisemitism at the expense of Jewish people globally. Zionism is also an inherently fascist ideology. The ethnic cleansing of the native people of Palestine has always been fundamental since it's inception as a colonialist movement. Adi Callai, an Israeli, does a great analysis of how Antisemitism has been weaponized by Zionism during its history.
The slogan From the River to the Sea is about Palestinian liberation that started in the 60s by the PLO for a democratic secular state, not Genocide. The Syrian leader Hafez al-Assad in 1966 maybe, but he's not Palestinian. While there's been 500+ Instances of Israeli Incitement to Genocide – Continuously Updated, on top of Netanyahu explicitly stating “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty.”
I'm not insane enough to argue biden didn't do some stuff. I just believe and will continue to believe, he lost the real fight, and that was novemeber 2024 and the damage done will be irreparable.
If you took all of the votes for Harris and gave them to the leading progressive candidate they still would have lost.
They’re a rounding error in democracy and the amount of change they’ve made reflects on that.
This is not how politics works. At all.
The democrats offered nothing and got nothing in return.
Perhaps if they offered something to people, like maybe reforming the healthcare system that will bankrupt you for a bandaid, I wonder if some of those nonvoters would have paid more attention.
Hmm... The world may never know...
I just don't think that's the end all be all answer to your argument. It's not as data driven as you might think. There is much more working under the hood then just shifting votes around.
In our system votes are literally all that matter.
Right, so do a more rigorous analysis.
Want me to tell you how Rachele Fruit could have had a path to the presidency?
No.
If that were my argument I would but as you've hopefully read: I think your, "proof" is surface level and am not convinced.
Why do you think that?
Votes aren't solely made on ideological basis. If I think there is a subset not participating but they would under the right circumstances they wouldn't be a part of the calculation, either..
By not voting they’ve taken themselves out of the equation and I’m not putting them back into it.
Well, I don't care because I already know your calculation is based on feels.
No, they’re cold hard facts based on the 2024 poll called the election.

I'll try not to cuss but you know and I know the polls were too close to call. So I don't know what we are doing here.
Between the conservatives and the moderates with the progressives trailing slightly behind Jill Stein.
Oh right. The "moderate" party.
Sorry you know I was talking about four parties there?
Two neck and neck and progressives in fourth place, not even on the podium.
Right, because any progressive not voting in the general for the dnc is just a loon.
Edit: come back with real numbers real data. What ever it is you think proves it for all to see. Go ahead. I won't play footsie anymore.
When their chosen candidate trails behind Jill Stein yes it’s kind of loony when the only real choice is Harris vs Trump.
So, it goes with out saying that thats not representive data?
Where are the progressive representatives in lower government then?
Yeah, I know. He really just quit half way through.
Oh, wait. He was ASSASSINATED.
Just because you’re right it doesn’t make me wrong.
